My Actifit Report Card: September 9 2022
We played a couple of rounds of disc golf today out at the usual course. Part way through the first round we found a disc and called the owner. He had the disc for over twenty years and wanted to run up to the course to get it back.
We waited for him after the first round and he joined us in the second round. Yours truly won both rounds. Scores were +3 to +7 in the first round and +5 to +6 to +8 in the second round.
Everyone was impressed with the new Alpas putter that I bought yesterday and I heard a lot of comments about wanting to get one. It sure has been working out well for me. It makes it a lot easier to run a putt if you can count on the disc sitting down closer to the basket without a lot of ground action.
It was hazy today out on the disc golf course:
Usually, you can see the mountains in the background but there was a lot of smoke clouding the view today. It is supposed to be hot and windy over the next few days and there could be some power outages. With this much fire danger, the utility company might shut down the grid to prevent accidental fires.
Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S22 Ultra. Text and graphics copyright lightsplasher & litesplasher.

Friend, that's called a good curator, of what he really wants, that citizen had the record for more than twenty years, of course even I would have done it, that record is what we call in Venezuela a relic, that is, it is for all my life, like a work of art, hehehe. and he also won two rounds, how lucky that man is. Talking about his performance today, Mom wasn't there, especially if those who were there liked his new Alpas putter, well I think it's very good, if many liked it, it will do very well in the future. Success.
When you have a disc for twenty years it does seem a bit like a relic. Actually I'm the one that won a couple of rounds today. "Yours truly" is another name for the author of the material. It probably comes from the old days of letter writing when people signed the letter with, "Yours truly."
If it's a true heirloom to have a game disc for 20 years, that's amazing. It's very true that you did very well in your game, I hope you continue like this with success, you deserve it. If I have not done well in my Hive posts about yoga, I have not even won for my medicines. Success, if you win, I'm very happy. Happy day.
Have they shut down the grid in extreme fire danger in the past @lightsplasher ? You can almost taste the smoke up where we are, hopefully the winds will not spark anything and will blow this out...
I'm not sure if they have shutdown the grid because of high winds and fire danger before or not. It seems like they should have back when all of the fire were sparked down south of here. There have been a lot of fire touched off by lightning recently. I hope the winds don't fan the flames.
Be safe @lightsplasher , it doesn't take much to set the Mountains on fire!!
I bet he was stoked to get that disc back!
I love that color of the water!
We lose power here way to much seemingly more than other states. So I finally bit the bullet and bought a decent sized generator. Now that I have it, bet it will be ages before we lose it again lol.
He was very happy to get the disc back and said something about putting it up on his shelf for safe keeping. I've got a few of those but I have not been playing for so long. I thought he would be an older person but he was younger. He must have started playing when he was very young.
I've been considering getting some solar panels but worry a bit about leaking on the roof. There are some power generating shingles you can replace the whole roof with but I think it might not be worth it yet because my shingles are still in good shape.
We don't lose power here very often so I'm not that concerned about it.
I have to admit, as painful as shutting the grid down, it is better than the uncontrolled fires out there. I hope everything works out well for you. That really does look cloudy!
The new Alpas putter is really showing off, isn't it? That is always a good feeling when you pick the right one. I would be lost, trying to pick a good one. Isn't that so nice when the owner is excited that you called him? Wow! I didn't know disc golf has been around that long. The same one for 20 years!
I am inpressed.
Hi, @lightsplasher
That Alpas putter showing off caused my son to buy three discs today. I could only afford to buy one since you know - old retired person, lol.
It seems like it is clearing up a bit but there is still some smoke in the air.
it turns out to be very beautiful the golf course when you capture, I hope you always win every game in the future my friend @lightsplasher 😁👍
Thank you. It feels like it is always a win when I'm out there. Sometimes I do better than my average and sometimes not but in general I'm having a good time.
Congratulations 👏 on your win. Stay Blessed and Healthy.
Damn 20 years without losing the disc.. that's pretty impressive. I'd say he got his money's worth.. love those floppy putters
I am liking the floppy putters more and more. I'm still not as accurate with them though. They sure make a good approach putter and for when you really don't want to run the basket and risk a roll-away.
I use a "bowling" type putt when I don't want roll aways where you throw the putter like you were gonna bowl it but you loft it kinda high.. it will fall flat to the ground in most cases..
very fun game today and I'm very happy to hear the comments of people there who are interested in your new disk of course it will make other people want to have a disk like that
beautiful shot today and as you said the mountain doesn't look like it used to. Hopefully the conditions there will improve soon and the fire can be overcome soon

That's a good competitor you really have here in terms of disc golf. Also I am wondering what really causes the smoke
There are many forest fires in the area. Up and down the coast many places have forest fires and very dry conditions. It has been unusually hot and the rainy season has not started as yet.
