My Actifit Report Card: October 23 2022

I played very conservatively today in the last week of the disc golf league. I was throwing mostly understable discs without putting as much power on my throws as I usually do. I still managed to turn my flippy Wave disc over into the out-of-bounds area. If it landed in bounds it would have been my farthest throw on the hole. Just a little bit more to the left and I would have had a great throw.

I came in second in this week's tournament in my division. It felt really good for me considering how my back was feeling over the last two days. I was very happy just to be out there and able to compete.

For the last round of the tournament, I celebrated a bit and got myself a couple of new discs with my scrip earnings. I got a lighter-weight Insanity and a Resister disc. I had to celebrate because:

Someone won an award:

A first-place finish is a bit unusual for me as tournaments go. I've been getting a lot of nice things this season and getting this mug feels wonderful.

My son did really well today too. 💙 He probably won CTP (closest to pin) on a hole that he got an eagle on (two under par). He almost got another eagle on the last hole but had to settle for a birdie. (I almost hit a birdie on the hole but had to settle for par. Back issues, older body, lack of putting practice,... sounds of little violins start playing, lol.)

All in all a very nice day.

Congrats on your award and doing so well! That is awesome! Take care of your back; I know how you feel. I usually throw mine out while either sleeping or taking a shower. Two of the most non physical activities you could possibly do, lol!

Congrats again and have a lovely week!

Thank you! It feels like I'm gradually improving and it is getting easier not to get too worried about throwing in a tournament. A little practice is helpful but I still need a lot more on the putts.

even though you are experiencing back pain which of course is very influential on your stroke but you still managed to get second place this is amazing, congratulations to you and your sons all in the last match next week you both can play optimally

You say that you did not play as you always do, it is for your recovery, in any case coming second is good, I will always wish you much success.
