My Actifit Report Card: June 3 2023
I mostly relaxed around the house again today. In the morning I went for a shopping trip and got some new appliancies.
The refrigerator recently stopped working, and the dishwasher has been giving some trouble for some time now.
I thought about repairing the refrigerator, but it is close to twenty years old, and I could not locate any parts. I could not directly talk to the repair service it was on-line text only, and they wanted $130 just to come out and take a look at it. If I could not find parts, I figured the repair service might not be able to find parts either. Rather than risk them coming out and saying, "That's an old fridge, Dude, I doubt I can find parts. Yup, no parts, that's like the easiest $130 I ever made."
Rather than crying in my warm beer, I figured that I should just belly up to the bar and fork out the cash for a new refridgerator, lol.
Anyhow, I bought that, a new dishwasher and an Onn media streaming gadget from Walmart. Best $20 I've spent recently and has breathed some new life into my older TV.
The birds are still at it:
I bet the young birds will be leaving the nest soon.
Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S22 Ultra. Text and graphics copyright lightsplasher & litesplasher...

Sorry to hear about the refrigerator, it must be contagious Lol😇😬
Our Samsung refrigerator ( 12 to 15 years old) would ice up every two months really bad inside.....
We finally bit the bullet and ordered a new one, it is being delivered on Tuesday!😄
Other than that, I'm glad you had a relaxing @acifit day my friend!
Sorry to hear that yours stopped working too. Maybe it is the time of year or something when everything starts to warm up more.
A friend of ours just replace theirs as well. They said that anymore they get 10 to 15 years and they go bad they just are not built like they used to!😳
It is such a shame that old appliances cannot be fixed; bit the same with computers.
I think it is the self-defrosting part that broke again. It happened once before and it was an easy fix with the correct replacement part.
Sometimes old freezers keep going and going because there is not much that can go wrong with them. Some of them were really built to last. It is too bad we don't have better standards that could encourage the reuse of older stuff.
20 years is a long time and I think most companies expect a life span of approx 10 years for the refrigerator.
another day with some lovely bird photos and I like the photos. Thanks for sharing.
Have a great weekend
I have seen old freezers work for over 50 years but maybe that was with a lot of luck. I think refrigerators could be made to last longer but I'm no expert in that technology.
You've got me yawning to look at these birds for real. Such lovely creatures.
Wish you could make a video of them😊
I had thought about that but I need to get a tripod attachment for my smartphone. I could have used my bigger camera but didn't think about it until after they had left the birdhouse. Maybe next time.
Oushh, they've finally left the birdhouse? That means we ain't gonna see more photos of them😒
Quite sad but I wish them well.
nice picture of the bird. happy running activities friends.
Congratulations dear @lightsplasher certainly with time it turns out better, buying a new refrigerator and a new dishwasher, than repairing them, because that will always have to be done later, it happened to me at home I repaired the refrigerator and then there was a need to do it again, that's why I bought it new and we also saved ourselves headaches. I'm glad you also took advantage of buying the Onn media streaming device from Walmart, I hope you enjoy all your purchases. Many birds visit his house, as long as they are for the best. Have a happy day, I take this opportunity to thank you for your good gesture of valuing my publications. Congratulations from Venezuela. May your next and soon disco game be successful.
Thank you. It is always a decision as to when to repair or replace something.
Next week's purchase.. a new TV..
Well, the new media server has really made the old TV work a lot better... of course, some of the newer stuff might improve the picture quality. I'm pleased enough with it though.
Actually the birds are very nice to see because they show love to each other and from this we should learn that forest animals show love to each other but in today's society people don't show love to people.
Thank you so much for presenting us with such beautiful photography
It does make me happy to see the love being shown between the birds. I think most people and animals show love to their children.
