My Actifit Report Card: October 4 2023
The three of us played a round of eighteen-hole disc golf on a very difficult course. I ended up with the win with a +18 score. My friends had a +21 and +29. For the first part of the round, my friend was playing very close in score to me, but in the end, he made a couple of errors.
My round came in at around 840, which was better than I usually do on the course. (This is based on a previous PDGA tournament with a similar score.) I feel like I made a few errors that would have saved a few points, too. I hope that I can do as well or better in the tournament that we will be playing on the course in a couple of weeks.
Just a note on round ratings. They are done in tournaments based on the scores of all the competitors. The weather and conditions are factors, too. Looking at past tournaments can give you an idea of what a rating might be for a round, but there are factors that can change this.
Today, we had a lot of wet conditions to deal with and some gentle rain. The wind and rain were not much of a factor, but I generally don't throw as well in the cold and wet weather. My shoes were soaked through by the time we were done, even though they were supposed to be water resistant.
In this weekend's tournament, we will be playing on an easier course. It should be a lot of fun but the players are very good so I need to focus if I want to do well.

I remember the first time I found this same 'shroom. I dubbed it the 'cinnabon 'shroom' as it kind of remined me of a cinabon pastry. I don't think I'd eat that one though! A lovely specimen!

I've seen some of them with fascinating patterns on the top. I'm not sure what is edible around here regarding mushrooms. Back in Colorado, I harvested a few types on occasion, but I'm not sure you're supposed to do that in most areas around Washington.
I don't care for eating them, but love to photograph them! The ones I do know are edible, I'd still err on the side of caution because there always seem to be a look alike that isn't quite good for you.

Most of my shoes have not stayed waterproof for long but these shoes are almost brand new. Disc golf is really tough on shoes. I've decided to try some waterproof socks to see if that helps any. Maybe with two layers of water resistance things will be better.
 I have not heard of waterproof socks before let me know how they work out. it’s really irritating to have wet feet!😲

That's a crazy looking mushroom. Playing in the wind and rain.... and mushy shoes... doesn't sound fun ! Glad it came out well for you anyway.
That last rainy round made me want to order some new stuff today. I got a lightweight rainproof windbreaker, some waterproof socks, and some waterproof pants. We shall see how waterproof the stuff turns out to be.

you got a mushroom that looks so big today, the texture of the skin must be very hard, I have found this mushroom several times but never one this big

Nice graphic! Yup, focus... and try to avoid having to show off my putting skills or lack thereof, lol. I really need to work on putting in the off-season but will likely just spend time playing rounds.
