My Actifit Report Card: November 5 2023

I did a couple of short nine-basket practice disc golf rounds today. I wasn't keeping score, but things were going nicely considering the conditions.

On a hole by a busy street, I decided to try out my new Hex disc. It was a bit understable for the shot, but I thought I would be able to hit the line and make it work. The wind began to pick up, and just as I was about to release the disc, it was blowing really hard. I thought to myself that I shouldn't really be throwing this disc into a headwind, and sure enough, when I released it, it turned in the wind and ended up about five feet into the street.

There weren't any cars coming just then, so I thought I would just walk up and get it. However, a car came out of nowhere and headed right for the disc. What the heck, I thought to myself, the disc isn't even in the roadway, but this guy is going to run right over it. I tried to wave at him to get him to slow down, but he paid no attention to me.

The car came to about a half and inch to running over the disc and parked but did not hit it. The road was clear of parked cars for a mile, but he had to park right by the disc golf basket practically on top of my disc. I came over to the car, and he rolled down the window and said, "Is it under the car?"

I said, "No, but you nearly hit it."

He looked at me and said, "Oh, did I?"

With that, I walked over and picked up my disc and walked off. I figured the conversation would not have ended well had it continued, lol.

I was a bit grumpy after both misjudging the wind and having my thirty dollar disc almost run over. I was sending some rather unsavory thoughts out into the cosmos, lol.

After a bit, I wondered what was going on with the person. Maybe he just didn't like disc golfers. Maybe he was a bit old school and figured that anything in the street was fair game to be run over by a half ton auto. It's kind of like how you could run over kids, jaywalkers, dogs, etc. etc., lol. In some places, you might even be able to get car damages paid for by the estate of whomever you ran over (so long as they weren't in a crosswalk). 🤪😝😋

Anyhow, later on, after I had settled down a bit, his dog came over to me and wanted to play. It was a very nice-looking dog, and I could tell he had treated it well. I started a conversation with him, and it seemed like he was a nice fellow. I told him I often like to take my dog with me disc golfing.

I don't know. People sometimes do things you don't like or understand, but someone long ago said you need to love them never the less.

What it looked like out on the disc golf course today:

Damn! You were so lucky that the car didn't hit it. What a dramatic moment it was😄
I wish you went along with Doggie so that he would meet his dog😊

I guess you would have listened to your instinct at that initial time by not throwing it. Perhaps, next time, you will.

Wow! You did well! I know people who wouldn’t have. I’m glad it all ended well for both you, your disc and for him.

Take care!

Luckily he didn't bump into your discount, if that happens it looks like something bad will happen, haha

Enjoy the game and hopefully there are no significant obstacles

What an experience my friend!😳
Now days you just don’t know how people will react, I think so many are stressed about life in general!
Sounds like he was an OK guy after all, maybe he didn’t realize these disc are expensive, and specifically crafted for disc golf!😇
I’m glad things turned out well!🤗

Your experience on the disc golf course reflects the unpredictable nature of outdoor activities. It's impressive how you navigated through a frustrating situation, maintaining composure and finding a silver lining by engaging in a conversation with the dog's owner. Your ability to find a bit of empathy and understanding, even after a frustrating incident, is truly commendable. It's a reminder that despite differences or unexpected events, there's always an opportunity to find common ground or a positive connection. Keep enjoying your disc golf rounds and embracing the surprises that come your way!

Yes, I really like that scenic photo. Very beautiful. 👌

Of course, it's a great day for you today, even though you didn't record a score, everything went smoothly, it's nice to hear that you continue to practice using your new disk, I hope the disk will be optimal
It doesn't seem like what usually happens there, but everything can be controlled safely,

As usual, your golf course looks very bright today, lots of green grass grows there, a beautiful view

Beautiful landscape. The autumn weather has been incredible this year. Glad your disc did not get crushed….. people are strange sometimes. He probably was just looking for attention ? Who knows ….

With all the wind that was in the place and the place of the game, everything went well for him, I hope his arm continues to strengthen. I will always wish you success. Friend @lightsplasher yesterday I was able to make a purchase at HBD directly from the house in communication with the commercial establishment, I hope you read the experience in the publication I made today. Successes in your puck game.
