Me fui temprano a Alta Vista, mi primera parada.
Sunday started off on the wrong foot: I barely slept because I was busy tidying the house, and to top it off, I had a company lunch I honestly didn't want to go to. I had better things to do, like catch up on sleep! But duty calls. 😴
I headed out early to Alta Vista, my first stop. The plan was to catch a bus to the event's mall, but I was surprised to find there was no transportation for that route. Since it's a long walk and I don't like to sit around doing nothing, I started walking. Halfway there, a local taxi driver took pity on me, asked for directions, and gave me a ride. Despite being the only one without a car, I was the second to arrive! 💨
A Lunch with Mishaps
We arrived at the place, called Aula 21, and it was closed. The person in charge of opening it was late, and to top it all off, the room had flooded. 🌊 We spent almost the entire afternoon there, eating traditional hallacas and ham bread.
When the group started drinking, I decided it was time to leave because I still had responsibilities at home. They took me to the Orinokia Mall, and I took the opportunity to stop by a new store called "Mango Bajito." It's huge! It takes about 10 minutes to walk just to the back of the store. A nice extra step for the day. 🛍
Hallaca Marathon and 50 Minutes of Sleep
I got home and went straight to the final mission: making hallacas. I was in the kitchen until 5 a.m. 🫔 I only managed 50 minutes of sleep before getting up again to train and then heading to work.
As I always say, success and failure are the same outcome; what matters is what we learn in the process, because the only certainty is the end of our physical existence. For now, I survived this marathon Sunday! 💪🧠
