A 44 DÍAS DEL MUNDIAL | El 'Bombazo' de Beckham en 2006 (ESP-ENG)

Saludos queridos futboleros de Full Deportes, hoy continuamos con la cuenta regresiva al inicio de la Copa del Mundo 2026, recordando que ya estamos a sólo 44 días para la nueva edición de la "fiesta del fútbol".

Para esta ocasión, nos trasladamos al año 2006,con el enfrentamiento en el Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion, de la ciudad de Stuttgart,entre la selección de Inglaterra contra el combinado de Ecuador. Uno de los primeros partidos de la fase de Octavos de Final.

El partido entre los europeos y los sudamericanos se mostró desde lo estadístico, más parejo de lo que se predijo en la previa del encuentro. Tan igualado fue el encuentro sobre el campo, que el mismo sólo se pudo resolver gracias a un gol extraordinario. Y justo allí, estaba David Beckham como el jugador indicado para lograrlo.

Con el 0-0 en el marcador, el entonces jugador del Real Madrid, ejecutó un tiro libre con una distancia cercana a los 20 metros de la portería ecuatoriana. Beckham cpn su siempre indiscutible técnica de golpeo, realizó un disparó que terminó siendo imposible de atajar para el portero Medrano.

Uno por cero en el marcador, y la selección inglesa dirigida en aquel momento por el recordado técnico sueco Sven-Göran Eriksson, teniendo que enfrentar en la siguiente ronda de la competición, teniendo que enfrentar a Portugal en la ronda de Cuartos de Final.

Greetings, fellow football fans at Full Deportes! Today we continue our countdown to the start of the 2026 World Cup, remembering that we are now just 44 days away from the new edition of the "football party."

For this occasion, we travel back to 2006, to the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion in Stuttgart, for the clash between England and Ecuador. This was one of the first matches of the Round of 16.

Statistically, the match between the Europeans and South Americans proved to be much more balanced than predicted in the build-up. The game was so evenly matched on the pitch that it could only be settled by an extraordinary goal. And right there, David Beckham was the perfect player to make it happen.

With the score tied at 0-0, the then Real Madrid player stepped up for a free kick about 20 meters from the Ecuadorian goal. Using his always indisputable striking technique, Beckham fired a shot that proved impossible for goalkeeper Mora to save.

One-nil on the scoreboard, and the English national team—led at that time by the memorable Swedish coach Sven-Göran Eriksson—moved on to face Portugal in the Quarter-final round.
