A 45 días de iniciar el Mundial Norteamérica 2026 (SPA-ENG)
Tras algunos días sin conectarme con ustedes, a partir de hoy iniciamos una serie de relatos relacionados con la próxima Copa del Mundo FIFA 2026, el cual será celebrado entre Estados Unidos, México y Canada.
Para esta primera nota previa al inicio del Mundial FIFA, esperamos el primer encuentro del torneo entre México y Sudáfrica, recordaremos la actuación del equipo argentino con Lionel Messi como el héroe principal de la victoria albiceleste.
Aquel encuentro se jugó en la ciudad de Porto Alegre, y significaba la cuarta ocasión en que africanos y sudamericanos se enfrentaban en un Mundial de Fútbol. El partido empezó muy bien para los dirigidos por el recordado Alejandro Sabella, con Messi convirtiendo en gol un balón suelta dentro del área nigeriana, durante los primeros tres minutos del encuentro.
Al borde del descanso, Lionel Messi volvería a hacerse presente en el marcador tras un soberbio tiro libre, que fue imposible de atajar para el portero Vincent Enyeama.
Sin embargo, la alegría de los argentinos duró muy poco, luego de que el delantero Ahmed Musa marcase el primero de sus dos anotaciones en el partido, el 1-1 al minuto cuatro, y el 2-2 en el marcador durante los primeros minutos de la segunda parte.
Pero los argentinos, empeñados en clasificarse a los Octavos de Final de aquella Copa del Mundo, sacaron la casta y consiguieron el tanto que posteriormente significaria la victoria, gracias a un cabezazo Marcos Rojo tras un córner cobrado por "El Pocho" Lavezzi.
De esta manera, Argentina avanzó a la siguiente instancia de un torneo en donde sería finalista ante la Alemania de Joachim Low, que terminaria levantando el trofeo en aquella edición.

45 Days to Go: The 2026 North America World Cup Kicks Off
After being away for a few days, starting today we are launching a series of stories related to the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
In this first preview leading up to the World Cup—as we look forward to the opening match between Mexico and South Africa—we remember an iconic performance by the Argentine squad, with Lionel Messi as the main hero of the Albiceleste’s victory.
That match was played in the city of Porto Alegre, marking the fourth time the Africans and South Americans faced each other in a World Cup. The game started brilliantly for the team led by the late Alejandro Sabella, with Messi scoring after pouncing on a loose ball inside the Nigerian box within the first three minutes of play.
Right at the stroke of halftime, Lionel Messi found the net again with a superb free kick that was impossible for goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to stop.
However, the Argentines' joy was short-lived, as striker Ahmed Musa scored the first of his two goals to make it 1-1 in the fourth minute, and later leveled the score at 2-2 during the early minutes of the second half.
But the Argentines, determined to qualify for the Round of 16, showed their grit and found the winning goal thanks to a header from Marcos Rojo following a corner kick taken by "El Pocho" Lavezzi.
In this way, Argentina advanced to the next stage of a tournament where they would eventually become finalists against Joachim Löw's Germany, who would ultimately lift the trophy in that edition.
