Cheering on our children from the stands

Sport has become part of my daily routine with my children. I’m torn between football and volleyball. I’ve had the chance to capture these moments in photos that I hadn’t shared before. There have already been tournaments where my son played and came out on top, and my daughter has taken part in a new volleyball tournament.

El deporte se ha convertido en parte de mi rutina diaria con mis hijos. Estoy entre el futbol y el vóleibol. He tenido la oportunidad de ir guardando estos momentos en fotografías que no había compartido. Ya han pasado torneos donde mi hijo jugó y resultó ganador; y mi hija en un nuevo torneo de voleibol.

Parental support is essential when we have children and they decide to take part in these activities. My husband and I have had to split up when the matches clash. At my son’s last tournament, where they won the championship, I had to rush off to the other pitch, which was about five blocks away, as my daughter was playing that day too. She was playing with a new team and new teammates that day, so she was a bit nervous, but the best thing was that I was there with her to support her, even though the match wasn’t going her team’s way.

El apoyo como padres es indispensable cuando tenemos hijos y ellos deciden participar en estás actividades. A mí esposo y a mi nos ha tocado dividirnos cuando los juegos coinciden. El último torneo de mi hijo dónde quedaron campeones, tuve que salir corriendo para la otra cancha que me quedaba como a 5 cuadras, ya que ese día también jugaba mi hija. Ese dia le tocaba jugar con un nuevo equipo, otras compañeras, así que estaba un poco nerviosa, pero lo mejor estuve allí con mi hija para apoyar, así el juego no sea a favor del equipo de ella.

There was a bit of sibling rivalry; my daughter wanted her dad to be there for her match too. Thankfully, the prize-giving ceremony was quick, so he managed to get there in time to spend some time with his daughter as well.

Los celos entre hermanos están presentes, mi hija quería que su papá también estuviese en su juego. Gracias a dios la premiación fue rápida y pudo llegar a tiempo para también poder estar con su hija.

I know that the things we do as parents are something they’ll always remember, and as a mother, I’ll always enjoy being there with them.

Se que esto que hacemos como padres siempre ellos lo van a recordar y yo como madre siempre disfrutaré de estar ahí con ellos.
