When the Rubber Meets the Road happens
You got to step out in faith and let the winds of the Holy Spirit carry you to take flight ✈️
Who would have known that this day would come so soon??
For many who have been following my journey in learning chords for the sake of the choir empowerment and self upskill reflect shared last year, have known that whenever I get some time juggling between jobs, side hustle and caregiving I will make a point to sit in front of the 20+ year old keyboard and start poking on the whites and blacks
Sometimes I admit I do slack when I figured that sleep is more important than practicing pass midnight (that's my routine)
Little did I know that right before the festive season of the Lunar New Year starts, I was called to serve by God when we couldn't find any musician to stand in for a wake service at all. 🫨😲
I had a choice: I could flee and I could step up.
But if I step up, my pastor in training God brother will be stuck in a position where he is unable to conduct a service (for the 1st time) and might stressed up a lot of other situations.
So I chose to step up.
It is going to be the first for everyone in my connect life group.
My god brother, first time conducting memorial service in public; no more mock runs.
My god sis in law, first time tackling online broadcast with at least 50 participants from Austrialia and other parts of the world.
Me, first time playing in public and leading worship.
And I believe we had a W for it.
God truly pulled us all through with the limited knowledge we had. Funny HE always choose the least qualified for HIS glory.
The late Mdm June's family, who were not of the same faith, were greatly touched by us accepting the request to help despite of the festive is right around the corner.
Because she was a very young believer who was saved in Australia, there were no churches able to conduct service for her.
She wanted to have her final resting place back in Malaysia, as I believe Australia was a lot more expensive.
Her ashes flew back with her family , and all she wanted before passing was to have that final moment with her family back in Malaysia.
Pity her mom, who is over 80 and she's still alive, while her daughter lost to Cancer.
Boy, I believe our decision to help was the best thing ever happened.
To us.
Because this madam despite battled cancer for just a year, lived a fuller life that anyone else.
We got to learn so much about her from her eulogy that we were so inspired to be an inspiration to others like her.
We greeted her husband and thanked him for allowing us to be part of this final journey because he could have chosen not to do it due to different faith, but his love for his late wife and fulfilling her final wish was truly admirable.
When we thought we were doing a gesture to bless this family, in the end, we in turn were greatly blessed.
What an honour!
