Finding Decoration Gems in the Old Town of Petaling Jaya
Ah, Lunar New Year is finally over; but apart from celebrations, we can learn a lot if there are any hiccups along the way, especially during preparation, from house decorations to paper bags that will help in part of the gift bags packing process.
I was running out of some really good and festive food packing bags that I pre-purchased from handy store, Mr. DIY, only to realise that I ran out of proper paper bags to bring along.
This is very true when our gift packs are for small families / friends, where big paper bags are not suitable. While I was hunting down for the paper bags, I found some interesting find that I can take note for next year’s decorations.
However, because it is the year of the Golden Dragon, some of these decorations are too dragon-themed.

I always preferred evergreen themes where I can re-cycle the decorations and not bound to a zodiac theme where it can only be re-used every 12 years. If the items are not well kept, by 12 years’ time it will be too brittle to use.
Why go for something that only last a year and then to be thrown away, right?
I mean, we can have one item that celebrates the theme of the year, however, it will be too
much if the theme is of the whole house.
(The bottom-line is, I am prudent. Maybe stingy for some... Haha)
That being said, some of the fake peonies are quite nice, though some of the colouring looked too fake.
Which of the flowers that attracted you the most?
The gigantic lanterns are impressive, but these are only suitable if you have a loft or a huge house to
have it in, to me, definitely not suitable for a tiny apartment; but, it is still nice to look at.
The best part was that I found my paper bag with a decent price; but if it is only for those that cost less than $2 USD, I wouldn’t make a 30-minute drive.

That is why, planning is important; but now I know that there are some really good spots for me to plan and get, like bottles for the homemade cookies and biscuits, I will be able to budget and get everything I need at a go. Probably my next trip will be for Christmas.
In the mean time, I gotta cut off those inches before the next festive season 🥲

for me, i would choose the Dragon theme, even if is for one-time use, well it's an annual celebration, so let's benefit from it all the time, perhaps I'll be dead the next day lol😃
There's a point indeed, but I might just be too lazy to remove it after seasonal festive. 🤣
The dragon ranges are definitely very sparkly ✨️ for the whole house this year.
