Eating Clean First Meal of the Day with Good Bacteria to Curb Sugar Spikes

Having rest days is always wonderful.
It's also a time I give mom a break and let me prep the breakfast.

Recently, due to attempting to reduce her stomach acid with probiotics, we have started sourdough brunch for her during my dayoffs so that she can sleep a little longer.

However, sourdough crusts are very hard, so whenever I am at home, I'll take the hard sides, and she eats the centre since she barely has any molar left.

She does enjoy the simplicity of sourdough with olive and a bit of salt, with fluffy mixed with Greek yoghurt scrambled eggs, we try to keep as healthy as possible lifestyle for the seniors as possible.

Unfortunately, dad is a fast eater, and he still has no self-control while gobbling everything up, we have to resolve to finely grind whole meal breads for him.

Sourdough requires slow eating and allows the saliva to mix with the bread for best results, and this is still a challenge for him, and he will end up feeling bloated and even indigestion later.

So far, Greek yoghurt infused fluffy scrambled eggs are doing well for them, and I can feed some good bacteria into their system as to mine as well.

Eating Clean is never easy, but once we learn to get used to it, we appreciate the natural taste.

The sauté mixed vegetables with just salt and pepper brings the sweet taste of the vegetables out too (especially yellow capsicum and celery), so it doesn't just work for steak 😜

Debunking all the typical Chinese dishes in Malaysia where oyster sauce is a necessary ingredient (for umami-ness, which is not wrong either), haha.

This also helps us to reduce the sugar spike and crash phenomena that I saw from a YouTube track. This actually works for me as I crave less snacking in between if I have this high-fibre protein and good fat in the morning. Meat is a bit too much for me, so eggs still help. Only thing that the price of 🥚 eggs are no doubt getting higher, and if I ever get to retire on a landed property again, I'll definitely get some hens for their eggs. I do miss those village childhood life days sometimes.

I think kids should have a balance of both grounded in homestead knowledge to appreciate the circle of life, but open to see the world and learn other cultures.
