Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog! Fresh from announcing three new cards in the vouchers shop, the team is at it again and announced a new legendary archon that can be obtained from Conflicts airdrop. This one is extremely strong and meta breaking. Let's dive in to Dragonlord Mancer's strengths and possible line ups.

Lore

Erik Mancer was a poor kid until he was taken by a dark mage. He was trained in dark magic but soon escaped as he was horrified by the practice of it. He became a mercenary and chose to be a warrior rather than a magician. Erik was recognized as a hero and the Gloridax Empire granted him the title of Dragonlord, welcoming him into their ranks.

Stats and Abilities

Legendary Dragonlord Mancer is a seven mana, Dragon splinter card. This means that he can summon all splinters making it possible for countless possible combinations. In addition, he can also summon two bloodlines of Saurian and Bruteborn. As for abilities, this makes him stand out among the archons. He is too strong in my opinion. First, he grants two units with powerful abilities Bloodlust and Corrupted Healing. Bloodlust adds to all stats everytime a unit defeats an enemy. Having two units with bloodlust in the team gives them a huge advantage. Even brawls normally only allow one gladiator card that has bloodlust ability. Corrupted healing is another broken ability, healing multiple units in the team. Having two of them sustaining the team with healing is absolutely insane. This ability could be comboed with the Bloodline Dominion ability, Scavenger that increases health and counteracts the cons of Corrupted Healing.

Possible Line Ups

Looking at the Saurians and Bruteborns in the Conclave Arcana and Frontier sets, there are plenty that can be summoned by Dragonlord Mancer.

Notable among these are Mystic Scaleweaver, arguably the strongest card from the Frontier set. Then there's Fenmoor Woodtroll, a good card in Earthquake rulesets and providing debuff to the enemy.

As for units to be granted with Bloodlust and Corrupted Healing, I would seriously consider the giants, the high mana, high damage common cards from the Escalation set.

Give any of these cards the Bloodlust ability and their stats will increase with each enemy defeated. Their stats will just snowball with each kill they accomplish. The best unit among these to combo with Dragonlord Mancer is Godsnot Sorceress.

Godsnot Sorceress

She is not my favorite card among the giants but she is Saurian and the abilities she gets from the archon synergizes well with each other. Her high attack has a high probability that she will defeat an enemy and therefore trigger Bloodlust and create a snowball effect as the battle progresses. As a Saurian, she gets the Scavenger ability increasing her health with each kill in addition to the increase granted by Bloodlust. This means that she will recover her max health that she loses from Corrupted healing thereby getting the benefits while offsetting the cost.

Mahkah Hemlig

Mahkah Hemlig deals four magic damage and has Opportunity ability to hunt down low health enemy units. Combined with Bloodlust, everytime she defeats an enemy her stats will increase similar to one of my favorite gladiator cards, Fina Voxom. She also has Scavenger that will offset the decrease in max health caused by Corrupted Healing.

Nyasha Mbalika

Another lowly regarded legendary card will increase in value due to its synergy with Dragonlord Mancer. Nyasha Mbalika is a card that deals three range damage and has Opportunity ability. Cards like Fina Voxom and Okora the Devourer who combines Opportunity and Bloodlust abilities have the effect of snowballing their stats with continuous kills every round.

Closing Thoughts

This card is simply a must have for serious competitors. Having two units with broken abilities Bloodlust and Corrupted Healing gives a significant advantage to the team. Couple that with Scavenger ability and the team will have high sustainability. Being a dragon splinter, Dragonlord Mancer offers countless possibilities for synergy.
