Sports Need Us !!!! #SaveSports

avatar
(Edited)
  • Sports's founders seem they have accepted the little profit over the past month
    They stopped developing the tribe
Stopping work is probably the worst thing a person has ever done

  • Now maybe I am sad about my sports investments
But more sad about this project

  • Maybe someone will tell me stop pessimism
And that people will invest in the token
I tell you that people don't trust when they see red arrow

  • Here I see an order to sell a million coins at one price !!
Of course it is from one person !!

  • Finally I tell you I'm not sad on the price I'm sad to stop working hard and develop

If you have the intention you can hear the suggestions of others
That was My proposal

If you concern and have powerful proposal add it to the tag #savesports
And I will #promote your post

Don’t panic, this kind of normal if you look at the total supply of SPORTS token. Give it some time to create itself a healthy market!

There are massive selling orders
These will continue push the price down and down

Don't worry let the sellers sell off and leave. This was bound to happen with so much abuse. The sports token will be harder to earn soon so the abusers won't be an issue in the long term. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will settle down.

I think we should contest with the @sportsvoter scheme. It pays 20% of the reward pool that we, users supposed to receive to pay for its SP delegators.

How about suggesting to apply a Steemit Inc delegation and present the current @sportsvoter plan? Instead of paying Sp delegators 20% of the reward pool, it will be distributed back to us content creators.

Don't know if Steemit would go for that. I am against the 20 percent for delegators even though I did delegate. I am only staking and not flooding the exchange though so there is a massive difference. I don't know what the answer is right now and Patrick needs to protect everyone on here at the same time. I believe the token will bounce back but then again the sellers will jump in and try and clear what they have.

Patrick needs to protect everyone on here at the same time.

The 20% of the reward pool given to delegators were actually the ones killing the price. Though some are sportstalk content producers, others are just focused on how much steem they get on their delegation.

So for me, this needs an immediate attention. @sportsvoter system doesn't really help the platform aside from it burns tokens received in exchange of Steem upvotes.

I am optimistic about the delegation application because that will be solving a big problem of the platform.

At first this title scared me because I just staked again to take my stake 500k !!!!

The price has really been falling and there's nothing we can do hehehe.

The price will stabilize sometime to come.
If you personally believe in sportstalk then this is an opportunity for you to buy!!!

I believe in sports but I need some announcement, some developing in the platform
to attract real investors and stop abuse
I suggest some proposals here

Sometimes when we get something easily, we underestimate its value. It is getting harder to earn SPORTS tokens day by day. Selling pressure will not be high when it becomes really hard to earn.

SportsTalkSocial is one of the tribes that communicates with the community very well. If you think in the long term, what happens on the way does not matter. What matters is the end result.

Nothing out of the ordinary here especially with such a high amount of tokens available.

It is going to take a while to sift through the ones who are dumping. That is normal. However, with a 9 month powerdown, it is going to make life tough once those are sold.

Any new project needs to get the tokens in the strongest hands possible. Weaker hands tend to get a lot of a token early on only to dump them.

This is a process that takes place across every token ecosystem.

Hey lolahuss - I'm not sure if you meant that the founders have sold off their tokens to have a profit so I wanted to address it in case anyone took that as meaning we've sold our stake and left the community. I'm the only founder of #sportstalk and I've not made any profits from SPORTS other than a few @sportsvoter promotion purchases that came from my own rewards from the site. Everything else I've made has been staked to increase my stake within the community.

Additionally work has certainly not stopped on improving the platform. We've rolled out @sportsvoter and @sportspromo to create one of the largest sinks among all tribes. We've also been claiming a number of DAC tokens from the kind delegation our community has provided in hopes of onboarding many new #sportstalk users in the future. The great @voltaire has rolled out our referee system that enables one of the most unique moderation systems among all tribes by requiring a group consensus on articles that are moderated so that no one user has all the power of the tribe. We continue to work to add support to roll this into a larger system where referees will become elected. You can always check the referee reports by following @sportsinfo to track their progress on spam fighting.

While I personally love using #sportstalk and am staking all of my SPORTS this is not a recommendation to make purchases of our token. SPORTS is not an investment. It holds no issued value and merely serves as a utility token to power our community consensus on trending content. Never invest more than what you are willing to lose.

Glad to see that you are implementing the moderation processes. The value of the token keeps going down because users are mining easily with no stress, even on comments. Some people that claimed they are fighting abuse are even the ones that are abusing. I hope the referee approach would be active enough to bring some value to the community. #lovesportstalk

Hi @patrickulrich.

Thanks for the constant hardwork in bringing the best for this platform. I would like to clarify a few things :

  • What's the use of @sportsvoter? To burn Sports tokens in exchange of upvotes, correct? This is the only use case of @sportsvoter other than increasing SP on an account (I dunno what are your plans with the SP but I think of it as a profit like most bidbot operators do). It is not helping the users logically. You send sports in exchange of upvotes and those sports are in current steem equivalents, which means it is technically just the same with other bid bots than its "burning" mechanism.

  • The @sportsvoter SP delegators were the main reason of the price dump of Sports. The 20% allocation of the reward pool to SP delegators is too much for a purpose that only farmed Steem. That's my opinion, before @sportsvoter was launched - its price was reasonable than "after" it was launched. Imagine those users who bought the tokens at 0.008/Sports which is now sitting at 0.0004/Sports.

I guess that's okay right? Because in the first place, Sports is not an investment "at all". But seeing that price dump, how are you feeling that the users who "invested" in your platform is experiencing a huge "loss"? I suggest to stop the bidbot scheme, distribute Sports tokens to content creators and curators because honestly, most delegators are just dumping Sports and we've seen that tragedy! I've been using @sportsvoter and I love it, I'm just against the Sports rewards for SP delegators idea. Steemit Inc, has actually launched a delegation application which you can apply your bidbot that burns sports. How about it?

  • Totally different from other platforms were tribe users who post under (#spt, #steemmonsters for example) receive votes for being active (and probably an investor) in the platform.

  • Make 50-50 rewards split for users posts. 50% sports and 50% Sports power. That could limit Sports liquidity.

  • Decrease the amount of time it takes to powerdown. Instead of 9 months, make it between 3-6 months

Please don't get me wrong. I love sportstalk and the man behind this tribe. It took me time to make this comment because I am concerned with the future of the platform.

Hey @korver - Thank you for taking the time to make these suggestions! It will be community members like yourself that are dedicated to improving the platform that will allow us to continue to grow.

You're correct on the usage of @sportsvoter's SP. It's used as a tool for users to redeem their SPORTS as an upvote from the @sportsvoter account. That being said this provides us with a number of uses beyond just the voting bot. The SP within the bot also allows us to claim discounted account tokens that will be invaluable in bringing non-Steemians to the platform as we grow. Currently we've redeemed roughly 250 account tokens to help prepare for inviting new SPORTS creators.

I understand your concerns towards the curation SP gained from this account. The plan is to not withdraw from the @sportsvoter account. This will allow the voting power to continue to grow and thus keep the number of SPORTS that can burnt similar to the initial levels. This won't be used as a profit for founders or delegators but instead a continued tool for improving the community.

The rewards that @sportspromo (@sportsvoter's delegation paying account) have only been set to 10%. We initially launched with the possibility of this going to 20% if there was over 2m SP delegated but it never went past 10% on that scale. We've since decided that capping the limit at 10% is the way to go. In addition we switched to that 10% being distributed as 25% liquid SPORTS while 75% is distributed as SPORTS POWER. https://www.sportstalksocial.com/sportstalk/@sportstalksocial/announcing-changes-to-sportsvoter

With the change to only 25% liquid SPORTS that means that delegators are only being rewarded a liquid amount of 72,000 SPORTS that can be sold on the market. Yesterday there was 144,128.299 SPORTS sent to @null from the @sportsvoter leaving us with a net decrease in the circulating supply. This encourages me to believe that over the long run that @sportsvoter will still be a net positive for the ecosystem as the market determines the proper value for tokens. In the future we will certainly be considering applying for a delegation from Steemit Inc but I'm not sure that this would eliminate the value proposition to @sportsvoter/@sportspromo though it would certainly be appreciated.

We'd also love to move towards a 50/50 split. Unfortunately at this time it would not be sustainable for the community as it would drastically increase our daily active users and thus require a decent capital investment to keep the tribe running. I detailed the reasoning for this in more detail on this comment - https://steempeak.com/sportstalk/@patrickulrich/pwrl93

I'm not sure I follow the logic on lowering the time for a powerdown. This would only increase the circulating supply of SPORTS and thus make more available to be sold on the market. I'm certainly open to reviewing this though if I'm overlooking a valuable reason for switching.

Hope some of this helps you understand my logic in our current setup. I'm certainly open to reviewing but for now I still believe that our setup is geared to grow the platform over the long term.

Thank you for positively taking this concern @patrickulrich. I'm surely taking it note. Though I am about to click the "post" button for the proposal I made which was the same concern of my comment above. I have now clear understanding of what you're doing (and the team).

I hope your wife had successful operation. Wishing for fast recovery. Have a great day ahead.

@patrickulrich There are problems - but they are all solvable. For me, tons of football content are a big problem. Football is everywhere - you want to puke from football already - the trend is clogged with football. I understand that this is the number 1 sport for many. But where are the other sports - they are in the basement. I do not like football - over the past week, football everywhere - it became boring. Name the community - football fans and disconnect. Lol) I don’t know how to fix it - people leave because all other content is not being promoted or voted.

Football is not the problem - the massiv actifit spam with 10 tribe hashtags is the problem.
There is NO Interaction with these cards. They only grab much tokens as possible and sell them.

Hey!

I've just check the richest list of SPORT and I'm on top25, for this I think I can give my point of view in this conversation. First, apologize if i make mistakes writting in english. I have got recently 1MM SPORTS, the last 300ks only for 30$ yesterday night... I'm goint to keep buying this deep while I have steem to invest.

I think sporttalksocial should be a platform to build sport communitys, one good example is actifit, but this is a already existent project.

I belong a volleyball club here in Spain, and I have seen a good chance of empower the community around the club with this tool. Pay to the players and coaches with token for share his trainings and experiences. I think this is the real value of this community beyond the news posts, and I think would be great involve more clubs with this tool. I wonder if the sportalksocial team is working on include more communitys like mine... perhaps something like syndication content of steemleo, or offer delegating power to this kind of organizations...

Thank you for all the efforts to @patrickulrich, i hope we can make sportstalksocial great!!! Keep working

If anything, the SPORTS token did start out extremely overpriced. The way I personally look at these tokens currently is that their price is somewhat linked to the steem upvotes that can be gotten from @sportsvoter. I'm now a buyer at current prices.
