City stayed in second place to become eight points behind leaders Liverpool, where the Reds managed to collect 24 points by winning eight games, the last of which was at the expense of Leicester City (2-1).

City lost 8 points through a 2-0 loss to Norwich City (3-2) and Wolverhampton (2-0) and a draw against Tottenham Hotspur (2-2).

City are set to play Crystal Palace in the next round after the end of the international suspension.
