As every Sunday, I’m bringing you the most memorable highlights of the Cuban Armada as they continue to put on a clinic in the world's best baseball league, and this week from April 19 to 25, 2026, was no exception.

Our ballplayers are leaving an indelible mark on MLB diamonds, proving that the island's talent is inexhaustible and capable of dominating on any stage.

The absolute spotlight belongs to Yordan Alvarez. "Air Yordan" has once again struck fear into opposing pitchers after a dream week where he batted an astronomical .471. With a red-hot bat, the Houston Astros slugger blasted three home runs, added two doubles, and drove in eight runs, confirming that when healthy, he is the most fearsome hitter in the Big Leagues.

His quick stats for the period are impressive: a 1.230 OPS, seven walks, and just three strikeouts.

Here is the detailed performance of other members of our legion:

Batters in action:

Andy Pagés (Dodgers): Hits (H) 16, Doubles (2B) 2, Triples (3B) 0, Home Runs (Hr) 2, Average (AVG) .471, Runs Batted In (RBI) 7, Walks (BB) 1, Strikeouts (K) 1.

Yandy Díaz (Rays): Hits (H) 13, Doubles (2B) 1, Triples (3B) 0, Home Runs (Hr) 1, Average (AVG) .433, Runs Batted In (RBI) 4, Walks (BB) 3, Strikeouts (K) 2.

Pitchers on the mound:

Aroldis Chapman (Red Sox): Innings Pitched (IP) 2.2, Earned Run Average (ERA) 0.00, Strikeouts (K) 5, Walks (BB) 1.

For the coming week, optimism is sky-high among specialists from the major sports networks. Yordan Alvarez is expected to maintain his destructive streak, especially with the upcoming series where opposing pitchers typically struggle against his power.

On the other hand, all eyes will be on Andy Pagés, who is proving that his start to the season is no fluke and could solidify himself as a strong candidate for Player of the Month if he maintains this rhythm of contact.

Cuban pitching also promises excitement, with relievers like Chapman finding their peak form to close out tight games.
