Este martes 30 de noviembre, justo al mediodía se realizó un rueda de prensa comandada por el presidente de la FVF para hacer el anuncio oficial de que el seleccionador argentino, José Néstor Pékerman es el nuevo entrenador de Venezuela. Primera vez en la historia que la Vinotinto contará con un DT tan experimentado con selecciones de Sudamérica, tales como Argentina y Colombia.

Su cuerpo técnico estará conformado por Patricio Camps, Leandro Cufré y Fernando Batista, todos estos exfutbolistas y Pascual Lezcano que será Manager de Selecciones, encargado absoluto de todas las categorías de Venezuela.
