The Premier League reported on Monday of the current week that Manchester City is under investigation for -possible- financial irregularities, most surprising of all? The investigations do not cover the last few years, but rather the 9-year period between the 2009-10 season until the league championship of the 2017-18 season. If the accusation is confirmed, Manchester City, the current master of the Premier League, could face sanctions ranging from the withdrawal of their league championships (which would leave Liverpool as champions on several occasions and Manchester United on other occasions). so many), the loss of points and even, the expulsion of the Premier Leagye, and that is, that you commit financial fraud can be something normal within the enormous amounts of money that these clubs move, but the cityzen club has been sent to an independent commission FOR MORE THAN 100 VIOLATIONS! to the financial rules of the Premier League, specifically to the W.82.1 standard, all this, having its beginning at the time when Manchester City was acquired in 2008 by City Football Group, whose owners are from Abu Dhabi, and who were those responsible for the immense amount of money injected into Manchester City to transform it into one of the most competitive teams in all of Europe.

The Premier League explains in its statement that all member clubs of the highest competitive circuit in England must, in the utmost good faith, provide all real and accurate financial information on the club's financial position, of course, emphasizing its income, the related parties and operating costs that the club has to cover. However, for the world of journalism and fans it will be difficult to know directly what is happening with the Manchester City case and that is that the Premier League explains that the process will be "confidential" and "private" for all those involved, Therefore, we will only know the resolution of the case when the competition website decides to publish its conclusions. Manchester City, which sees 6 of its Premier League titles put at risk, was surprised by the accusation, although it is not the first time they have fallen for something like this, let's remember that they were on the verge of being expelled for two years of Europe, but upon appeal, their ban was overturned and they were fined 30 million Euros. Guardiola, a year ago, said that if any problem of this nature arose, he would be the first to get off the boat, we have to see what happens with the citizens.

Plusvalías para Juventus - Capital gains for Juventus

Juventus lived in 2006 perhaps the darkest period in its entire history, when the Italian Justice decided to drop the Turin team to Serie B due to the Calciopoli case, in which several clubs were involved, and which meant the loss of 2 titles for the top winner of the Scudettos of Italy, recently, almost 17 years later, the Vecchia Signora is involved in another scandal, the Court of Appeals for Italian football has imposed a harsh sanction of 15 points on them in the current Serie championship A, which may be even more at the end of the investigations for the famous case of capital gains. The group that at that time was chaired by Andrea Agnelli and Pavel Nedved altered their accounts through accounting tricks that they attributed to players that they exchanged with other clubs (Pjanic, for example) giving them a value above the market. This gave rise to the fictitious and fraudulent capital gains, which were finally discovered by the Turin prosecutor's office and which meant the sanction of the Vecchia Signora and, of course, a harsh sanction to the entire cabinet of Andrea Agnelli, which right now is under the sights of the Italian justice for financial fraud while he was president of the club, a situation that forced him to immediately resign from the presidency of Juventus.

The Turin team is not the only one involved in the problem, it was accused along with other clubs, among which Napoli, the current leader of Serie A, stands out, of increasing the market value of the players to generate more income by transferring them, With this fiscal fix, Juventus carried out 22 operations that allowed it to post obviously false capital gains in the 20-21 financial year, reducing losses, without the need to recapitalize and to top it off, reinforcing itself with players like Cristiano Ronaldo, in addition to the Pjanic- Arthur with FC Barcelona (which also served to settle accounts for the blaugrana), the transaction with Manchester City, of the Portuguese winger Joao Cancilo for the Brazilian Danilo, who today is one of the pillars of the Italian team, is under investigation. but that at the time, meant for the people of Turin a capital gain of 30 million euros. But more than anything it was within Italy where all this happened, with the Italian clubs themselves such as Genoa, in the case of Nicolo Rovella or Liguria where Portanova and Petrelli came from. With the sanction, Juventus is automatically left out of the championship dispute and although their lawyers are working to reverse the situation, everything seems useless, especially since the Italian Justice has a certain resentment towards Juventus itself.

UEFA is also investigating one of the clubs that had the most financial problems after the disastrous management of its previous president, FC Barcelona, today under the presidency of Joan Laporta, but which still has the wounds of the corrupt Josep María Bartomeu open. , along with 20 other teams (including Inter, Roma, Juventus, PSG, Marseille and others) are being investigated by UEFA for failing to comply with the financial Fair Play rules in the 20-21 season, the famous COVID season in which the economic blow for the clubs was tremendous and where they had to use every accounting trap they found to keep their financial health stable, the sanctions for the French could only be of an economic nature, while the Italians and FC Barcelona They could suffer harsher punishments, especially for their direct participation with Real Madrid in the Super League matter, even being banned from the competition. is European with a view to the following seasons or to prevent certain operations in the transfer market, for the Catalan team, which during the management of Josep María Bartomeu came to be on the brink of bankruptcy, a situation from which it is only with great difficulty are recovering today.

There will be a new control system, since UEFA has decided to create new rules to maintain the Financial Fair Play from 2023, in which clubs will be even more limited to spending a certain percentage of their income on player salaries, transfers and agent fees. The limit for 2023 will be 9%, but it will continue to drop gradually, until it will be 70% of income from 2025. Paris Saint-Germain is one of the clubs that has had the most problems with Financial Fair Play in in recent years and as such, the highest body in European football has given them 3 years so that their numbers are back within the correct range, adjusting their expenses in relation to what they actually earn, since currently, Messi's team, Neymar and Mbappé has a deficit of almost 100 million euros, a circumstance that must be changed immediately if they do not want to face harsh economic sanctions and even worse for Al-Khelaifi, sports sanctions, because as we know, money is not a problem for the emir, but the project that has cost you so much to build, surely it hurts and it hurts a lot.
