My Actifit & Clean Planet Adventure: Sep 28 2023

Ready or not, here I come..

-> from seeing the unspoiled natural beauty of our colourful world in black & white.

So I thought I'd try something different today in my Actifit & Clean Planet Adventure. Living in such a vibrant and colourful world.. offers the collective a unique opportunity, when seeing the solutions to problems in 'black & white'; to reminisce in those good memories of a time gone by. This nest which I came across today, is a microcosm of unspoilt beauty - curiously similar to an spotless planet.

I scouted some of the local roads today, in an attempt to see what I could find. Afterall, this is usually where the problem starts. It didn't take very long to spot some paper/card in the green grass. Managed to restore the scene appropriately.

A plastic sandwich container caught in some vegetation along the curb. Looked much better once it was removed.

The good thing with the grass on so many sidewalks being overgrown, is that it's able to catch rubbish which would otherwise just blow away. Glad to have gotten to this piece in time.

Some sort of instant hot beverage sachet. Another item for the bag.

An empty tuna packet baking in the sun is not exactly the most pleasant thing to collect. Glad I had a rubber glove on.

Another one of those hot beverage sachets. Wonder how they got here?

A plastic bread bag is such an environmental hazard. Each day is a constant battle to keep the area clean. It's worth it though, as the surroundings by the local pond can now testify.

Nothing is too small. A sweet wrapper joined the rest.

An empty packet of cigarettes. Once removed, the dry leaves along the curb just looked so much better!

Some sort of plastic cling film. A nasty chosen hazard removed.

Looks like some sort of marshmallow egg wrapper perhaps? Another one bites the dust!

I dunno what it was.. but it obviously wasn't meant to be there.

Managed to get rid of this paper spoiling the beautiful foliage in the background.

I'm always astounded when I come across these bigger pieces of trash. It brings down the whole tone of the area - just really nasty! I get so upset when the same makes their way to the environmentally sensitive areas.

This lid of a tin can poses a real hazard. Very sharp and rusty. Not cool!

An advertisement from a newspaper. These tend to blow around all the time. Got it though!

After cleaning some of the roads, I wanted to still visit the precious local wetlands. Whether in colour or black & white, the view is breathtaking!

The precious geese were enjoying both the sunshine and inviting water. This area looks pretty clean now. Awesome!

I like how the younger ones approach me each time, with their parents keeping a watchful eye. Among the coolest creatures out there.. so clever!

It's like a jungle out there. Full of criminal danger, yet awe-inspiring in terms of beauty.

I've walked this path so many times, but seem to have missed this particular fragment. Repetition is key.

I was able to collect a nice amount of litter today. If the other nearby roads are anything like what I came across today, then I have my work cut out for me! The haul placed in a municipal wheelie bin where I stay and photographed, before getting combined with the other litter already present. Managed to reach my required steps for the day as well. Brilliant.
