Ready or not, here I come..

📌 Adventure afoot!

🔼 Those who've been following my thrilling journey thus far, are well aware that I'm currently on a mission to cleanup some special part of the planet, whilst getting fit in the process. Though I'm of course willing to adapt, right now my focus has been on the region surrounding the local wetlands. It's a constant balancing act between doing what's morally right, and my perception of feeling safe - in what is a potentially dangerous area. Things are not always what they seem, and I need to be vigilant at all times. Being alert has proven to be effective in spotting litter from a great distance. Though this cover shot taken during my adventure may seem picturesque.. a trained eye will be able to spot that something is askew. Stay tuned to find out what!..

⏫ Before that, however.. I recovered a plastic bag. This environmental hazard once housed citrus fruit it seems.

⏫ Next up was part of a black styrofoam tray. I'm guessing the sort we find in a butchery down here. That fact alone made me be extra careful.. for it could theoretically have been overrun by nasty bacteria.

⏫ Though the colour dictates that this was clearly not from the previous article.. I find the fact that it too was styrofoam, to be quite curious.

⏫ A half of a shoe inner. So far, all the finds have been incomplete.

⏫ Here's another example. A single glove.. or was it an oven mitten? I'm thinking the latter probably. Wonder where the other is?

⏫ Every now and then I come across a piece which is frustrating to remove (though satisfying in the end). The plastic was so degraded that as soon as I touched it, it shattered. Each piece I then picked up, broke into smaller pieces. In another setting that may have been rather amusing to me, but over here.. I find myself looking over my shoulders all the time!

⏫ While photographing this piece, I felt a sting on my leg. I was alarmed to learn that a horse fly was saying "hello". Not very fun!

⏫ This empty packet of cigarettes must have been here for ages. You can see how weathered it was.

⏫ An interesting green glass bottle. Not sure what it once contained though.

⏫ I've seen this stuff before. I think it could be used on the reverse side of embroidery.. I'm guessing.

⏫ A lonesome sock.. yuck!

⏫ This is the 'final straw'! Thought that was clever lol.

⏫ This napkin was found near to the bin. Did someone miss?!

📌 Now in this bin!

⏫ I emptied what I had picked up, into the municipal bin near the local wetlands (allowing me to re-use the carrier again). Another great result, whilst getting fitter in the process.

📌 Final words

🔼 Oh yes.. as promised in the beginning. If you look very close in that cover photo, you may be able to see something out of place near the start of the river trail. Although it's a zone which I'm not particularly comfortable with, I was still able to recover the empty toilet cleaner and sponge (both visible in the bin earlier). Although there was more trash around that area.. something seemed 'off'. I listened to my instinct and retreated. I guess that's what is called 'unfinished business'.
