Ready or not, here I come..

-> from looking for trash, whilst a goose made a splash! Little did I know, I would soon make a dash, before my stomach could crash!

📌 Adventure afoot!

🔼 The weather conditions for today's adventure, caught me completely off guard - but in a positive way. Looking through the windows, the afternoon sky was overcast - perhaps with a possibility of light rain. Following yesterday's strong wind.. I certainly didn't expect the tranquil silence which I encountered on my arrival to the local wetlands. Little did I know, however.. that soon after greeting the geese, that blissful feeling would rapidly disintegrate! Stay tuned to find out why!

⏫ Ok, let's start from the beginning. I made my way towards the wetlands, and upon my arrival, enthusiasticly bagged some trash alongside the curb (large till slips). I then moved on to seeing my friends - the geese.

⏫ From there, I marched onward - spotting a very large 'something' in the distance. Ever vigilant and finding myself intrigued by it's curious placement over the dense bushes.. I approached with caution. To my total shock, the horrifying stench was overwhelming - use your imagination! There was no way I was going to bag it! I couldn't leave something so repulsive out there either! Arm outstretched, I walked the far distance to the municipal bin and dropped it inside. This officially was the worst piece I've ever attempted to dispose of! I wasn't even comfortable with it touching my glove - so straight afterwards rubbed it (the glove I was wearing) in dry sand.

⏫ This next item was an empty tube of something.

⏫ It was a relief to find some worn paper around this time - that's perspective.

⏫ Next up was a broken lighter. Even though it was empty, I still don't like finding them in the bush.

⏫ A foil tray, which likely had some sort of food in it at some point. It was half buried.

⏫ A sticky yogurt container. I walked this one straight to the bin as well, for it seemed too messy to put in the carrier.

⏫ I think this was from a baked pie. I recall there being a foil part in the paper packet.

⏫ A wrapper from a slab of chocolate.

⏫ I don't really know what this was to be honest. It reminds me of some sort of led light perhaps? Not sure.

📌 The results of sin..

📌 Now in this bin!

⏫ The trashed for the day was all placed in the local municipal bin on site. I sprinkled some dry sand over the disgusting article from earlier. For hygiene reasons, I chose to also discard the blue carrier - which I've previously been re-using. Later on, I decided to soak the rubber gloves in a tub of water with bleach. Didn't have much fun today, though it was still exercise, and the environment is a better place now.

📌 Final words

🔼 The highlight of the day relates to the geese in the cover photo. This photo was taken around the same time. If you look carefully, the one in the water was spashing away - so cute!
