Ready or not, here I come..

Adventure afoot!

Though I've been blessed to encounter some truly remarkable people in my life.. I still find it hard to relate to much of the world around me. Ok, so I've pretty much been a loner from my earliest childhood memories.. but the reason I took that path in the first place, was from learning that I saw things differently to the masses. With this realization proving overwhelming at times.. I've found a good ol' walk in nature to be quite beneficial in lifting one's spirit! Even better when you do some real good in the process - like cleaning the planet!

I had to do some 'bundu-bashing' to reach this 1.5 litre plastic bottle. Stoked to have started the day on a sizeable recovery.

As is often the case.. when retrieving one hard to reach item, another nearby one comes into view. This empty packet of 'bran muffin mix' required environmental extraction.

The headline on this littered newspaper ironically served as inspiration to push on ahead!

This empty sachet of cat food makes me wonder.. whether the cat I saw around these parts recently, may have found it first? Irrespective, it was time for this litter to go.

Now I never expected this. A lone plastic dice. It had a strange hole in it too - weird.

This large sheet of shiny paper resembled that of gift wrap. Yeah, I think that's what it was. I really had to push the limits on getting to to it, though. It was very near to an area where someone seems to be living in the bush (there was some kind of nearby structure).

I've not only gotta be vigilant with regards to my surroundings.. but also not to accidentally bring something untoward back with me. This polystyrene tray clearly had chicken in it at some point. The bacteria crawling all over it must have been hectic. Good thing I was wearing a rubber glove.

This nasty plastic box strap may have been elongated in shape like the metal box in the background.. but unlike it, evidently served no useful purpose.

Not sure what the concrete bar is for.. guessing some sort of marker maybe. It certainly wasn't for the savoury snack paper collected.

Did this blow out of a dustbin? ..or did someone selfish just throw it down? I don't have the answer, but I did have a bag - thus picked it up.

I never noticed the plastic spoon accompanying this ice cream cup, until I pulled it from the sand. Thankfully it came out mostly in one piece (which is often not the case).

I found another municipal bin in the area, which is where I emptied the rubbish collected today. It was a very successful mission, with me getting quite a lot of trash out the environment - including some hard to reach items.
