Season 9 Eliminations

Hello,

This post is to explain the qualification process for Season 9. There are three stages:

1. Pre-qualifiers
2. Round 1 (Champions League path and Consolation path)
3. Round 2 (Champions League path and Consolation path)

Pre-qualifiers are held in "walk alone" mode - ie. the participants are competing for 24 available slots. They post @actifit reports for 4 consecutive days and after applying some bonuses, the best advance to play-off rounds. (See this post for details)

The following two rounds are divided into two paths. The mode is play-off, ie. players are paired and the winner of each pair is decided by aggregate score over two matches.

I will list players per round and give the schedule.

Top 8 players advance to Round 1 of Eliminations - Champions League path. The next 16 players go into Round 1 of Eliminations - Consolation Cup path.

Round 1

Friday, June 24 - Monday, June 27

Champions League path

Top 8 players from pre-qualifiers advance to Champions League Eliminations path. They will face 8 seeded players. The best player from pre-qualifiers faces the seeded player #8, the second best - #7 etc.

The winners advance to Round 2 of Eliminations - Champions League path, where they meet seeded players. The losing sides are transferred to Round 2 of Eliminations - Consolation Cup path.

Consolation Cup path

Players who finished pre-qualifiers in positions 9-24 form pairs of this round. Player #9 plays against player #24; number #10 meets #23 etc.

The winners advance to Round 2 - Consolation Cup path. The losing sides end their play here.

Round 2

Friday, July 1 - Monday, July 4

Champions League path

Winners from Round 1 meet seeded players. Best winner faces seed #8, second best - seed #7 etc. One pair is already fixed - seeded players #9 and #10 face each other.

The winners advance to the Group Phase of Champions League. The losing sides are transferred to Consolation Cup, Round of 16.

Consolation Cup path

Winners from Round 1 will face losing sides from Champions League path, Round 1.

Winners of Round 2 advance to the main phase of Consolation Cup (Round of 16). The losing sides end their play here.

Direct access to Champions League Group Phase

The following players do not need to battle thru Eliminations - they are already in the Group Phase of Champions League.
