Founding Of AC Milan : 122 Years And On

Back in 1899, the Milan Cricket and Football Club was started by Herbert Kilpin.
Born in Nottingham, England, Herbert Kilpin started playing football at the age of 13, playing for the local club Notts Olympic and St. Andrews, as well as working in the lace-ribbon industry. In 1880, Kilpin was met by an Italian, Eduardo Bosio, who left Italy for England to work for a textile company in Nottingham. It was there that the two met, and it was not long before they became friends because of their interest in football. 4 years after his return to Italy in 1887, Bosio returned to England and offered Kilpin a job, which Kilpin agreed to, and went to Italy. Bosio founded a club called "Internazional Torino" in his hometown of Turin, Italy, where Kilpin started playing.

Kilpin described those days like this that he had noticed a few things. Firstly that he saw there were no referees in the game. And the spectators would come down to the field and play after a while. Teaming up with a side and eventually making 18-20 players on a side. After playing in Torino for 6 years, Kilpin moved to Milan for work. He first came to Turin to play during his first vacation, but later retired and founded a cricket and football club in Milan in 1899.

At the very beginning of football in Italy, Kilpin helped the Italians understand how to play football. Kilpin brought a little more English flavor to Milan, brought Richard Davis, who played together in Turin, to Milan, as well as David Allison, who was the club captain before Kilpin himself became captain. Kilpin spent a total of 9 years in Milan, among which he won 3 national championships. In honor of Kilpin, AC Milan changed their name from "Milano" in Italian to "Milan". And as obviously it was Kilpin who actually picked the famous colors Milan's red and black jersey. When he was asked what the club's color would look like, he said that their color will be red, as they are the devils. Along with the black, because of the fear they strike in the opponents hearts.

And the rest is as the call it, history. Every kid knows AC Milan. One of the most celebrated clubs in the podium of football. Years after years, decades go by, Milan remained in the mix of the very top ones. Kings of Italy a long reigning king of Europe, now maybe is a downtime. But is on the rise. Herbert Kilpin's creation of Milan was probably the best thing happened to Italian football, hence, the entirety of football. Wow what a history. I remember when I was still very little, the serie A was the best league then and there were only two clubs in the mouth of everyone, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
