Roberto Mancini : Turning Into Trophies Whatever He Touches

As there was Ferguson for Manchester United, as is Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool, today's modern Manchester City had Roberto Mancini. Yes, you're very own Italian head coach Mancini. I'm not putting Mancini in the ranks of Fergie and Klopp. Also I'm not saying Mancini is the best manager in the world but I think Roberto Mancini was the right coach for the rise of Manchester City at that time.

Remember 2012? That dramatic last day drama of the premier league? That famous Aguero to take the title in the very last minute from Manchester United. That's the goal which single handedly made him a Manchester City legend because, that goal was not just a goal but a bridge between the Premier League trophy and Manchester City after a long gap of 44 years. In the year before winning the Premier League, Mancini gave Manchester City a taste of winning a trophy after 35 years. Manchester City won the FA Cup after 41 years, the Community Shield after 40 years and the Premier League trophy after 44 years under Mancini. Maybe that's why the name Roberto Mancini is a symbol of passion or love for Manchester City fans. Because Manchester City has risen through the ranks in the hands of Mancini. He knows exactly how to create an effective squad.

Roberto Mancini was born on November 26, 1964, in the city of Lecce, Italy. However, he grew up in the Rockadaspide hill town. Mancini worked as an altar boy in his youth. Maybe God wanted to decorate his story a little more colorful, and that's why he turned from an altar boy into a footballer. And now he is one of the best managers. As a player, Mancini was a very tactically sound player with great talent. Who could often play as a center forward as well as a supporting striker. He is also known as an offensive playmaker in his career. He gained fame for his ball control and dribbling skills as well as his tactical intelligence. He became best known while playing for the Serie A club Sampdoria. There he played 424 matches and scored 132 goals which helped the team win the Serie A title, 4 Coppa Italia, European Winners Cup. That Scudetto is Sampdoria's only Scudetto till date. After ending a 15 year relationship with Sampdoria, he joined another Serie A club, Lazio. There he won the Scudetto, as well as the Cup Winners' Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and two more Coppa Italia. All the while ending Lazio's 26 year old title drought.

He scored 156 goals in 545 matches in his total club career. He also represented Italy in the 1986 Euros and the 1990 World Cup.
Mancini began his coaching career at Italian club Fiorentina. He stayed there for only 1 season and in that season he won the Coppa Italia. The following year, on May 9, 2002, he joined Lazio as coach. In his first season there, he led Lazio to the UEFA champions League semifinals. Lazio won the Coppa Italia in the 2003/04 season. Before the start of next season, rumors spread in the news that Mancini could be the coach of Inter Milan. Eventually the rumor turned out to be true and he joined Inter Milan. After joining Inter Milan, he led the club to the hat-trick Scudetto. Ending their 17 year old title drought. Besides the Scudetto, Inter won the Coppa Italia 2 times and Supercopa Italia 2 times. Although he was successful in Serie A, he could not be successful in the Champions League. He was fired for failing to bring the Champions League title.

He is currently the manager of the Italian national team. The Italy team that failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup turned out to experience a great turnover at the touch of Mancini. Immobile, Bernadeschi, Barella, Donnarumma, Chiiellini, Insigne, Spinazzola, Chiesa, Emerson, De Lorenzo, Verratti and many more. At first I said that Manchini knows very well how to create an effective squad. Proof of this is Italy winning the Euro. Italy's game under Manchini is also quite amazing. This gentleman is a master at arranging offensive football by keeping the ball on his feet instead of playing typically defensive which has been Italy's trademark. The world cup is ahead of us, and we are expecting this exciting Italy to entertain us once again, a genuine heavyweight of the competition.
