The premier league season is over. As usual, as like every year, battle for places in the table has gone right to the last game week of the league. Today, we are going to concentrate on the upper quarter of the table. As that's the most arguable. Yes, the relegation zone is also enough arguable but people outside the those selective fanbases barely care about what's happening to the clubs. We all want as much fun as we can get, don't we? The top quarter of the table looked pretty much as they should be. Well because, you get what you work for isn't it? But there is always second thoughts and opinions. Many a people think Liverpool should have won. Many think it's alright that Manchester City has won. And so on. But even more arguments have taken place regarding the fourth place. Between Arsenal and Tottenham. Oh and Chelsea have been sleeping in third for pretty much the whole season. They've been playing best of the rest of years now, behind the top two. So, who's side are you on? Do you think arsenal should've qualified for the champions league? Or do you think Tottenham deserves what they've got?

Well, I myself am going with opinion number two. Yes, I prefer Tottenham over Arsenal. Now you can say no, Arsenal had the best turnaround, arsenal had the started too bad and came back, their youngsters have shown top class. Yes, you are right. But first of all, sympathy doesn't win you points. And secondly, they are a bunch of kids. Young players with next to zero experience in the top flight of English football. Which is arguably the hardest league of all. We shouldn't be expecting so much of them in the first place. Arsenal have been in shambles since wenger left. No champions league football for 5 years. But after that period, arsenal board have finally put faith in club legend Mikel Arteta and has backed him in the market. The manager got players to his preference. And the result is better than previous seasons at least. Which is a step forward. Arsenal's story this season has been "being consistently inconsistent". Which is expected. But even with this fragile form they were keeping up for the 4th position. But towards the business end of the season, as much as you need talent, you need experience and grit too. This is where arsenal lost their ground. Towards the last three games, arsenal had a 4 point lead from their nearest contestant Tottenham. After then they lose 3-0 to Tottenham. Okay, still they had a point lead which meant they had their fate in their own hands. But in the next game they lose 2-0 to Newcastle. They had thrown it. All the year's hard work didn't meet the rewards everyone expected. But this is the closest they've been in years. And the board is also showing faith in Arteta, will back him again in the market. When the trust is there, good things will arrive, as good things take time.

Yes, it's sad to see Arsenal losing out on the champions league spots. But instead of directly going to the big league and get maybe getting thrashed (as most of the players are new and young), it's good they will have more time to examine themselves and make themselves more consistent before hitting the champions league. And the Europa league is the perfect nurture ground for this wonderfully talented young Arsenal.
