MI VIDA DEPORTIVA DESPUES DEL COVID/MY SPORTING LIFE AFTER COVID ESP/ING

Hola amigos de @fulldeportes han pasado varias semanas desde mi última publicación mostrando algunos paisajes en bicicleta y es que hace exactamente más de un mes me contagie de covid-19.

Hi @fulldeportes friends, it's been several weeks since my last post showing some cycling scenery and it's been exactly over a month since I caught covid-19.

La verdad es que no sé donde estuvo realmente mi foco de contagio, empecé a sentirme mal, con dolor en el cuerpo durante 5 días, pero lo asocié al cansancio acumulado.

The truth is that I don't really know where my focus of contagion was, I started to feel bad, with pain in my body for 5 days, but I associated it to accumulated fatigue.

Luego de pasar algunos días con dolor de cuerpo aparecieron los primeros síntomas de una gripe la cuál pensé que se me quitaría al pasar los días.

After spending a few days with body aches, the first symptoms of a flu appeared, which I thought would go away as the days went by.

Durante muchos de esos días presenté algo de fiebre y en las noches sudaba tanto que la cama amanecía completamente mojada, supongo que era la fiebre que sudaba a causa del virus.

During many of those days I had some fever and at night I would sweat so much that the bed would wake up completely wet, I guess it was the fever sweating because of the virus.

Aún con todos estos síntomas que presentaba no tenía sospechas de haberme contagiado, ya que me seguía sintiendo estable, pero el punto de inflexión y el más difícil de aceptar me ocurrió cuando llegué un día a casa y no le sentí sabor a la comida.

Even with all these symptoms I had no suspicion of having been infected, since I continued to feel stable, but the turning point and the hardest to accept happened when I came home one day and I had no taste for food.

Al saber que había perdido mi gusto y olfato mis estados de alarma se encendieron ante un posible positivo, sentí miedo, no por mi estado de salud, sino por la posibilidad de contagiar a mi entorno familiar.

When I learned that I had lost my taste and smell, my state of alarm was triggered by a possible positive result, I felt fear, not because of my state of health, but because of the possibility of infecting my family environment.

Inmediatamente me puse en contacto con el medico que me trata y luego de realizar la PCR se confirmó lo que ya sospechaba, había dado positivo.

I immediately contacted the doctor who treats me and after performing the PCR it was confirmed what I already suspected, it was positive.

Inicialmente estuve en aislamiento en mi dormitorio, sin contacto con mi familia, en una parte de mi casa. Al salir positivo los síntomas se agravaron, comencé a tener tos seca y me empecé a sentir muy mareado y con el cuerpo en un estado tan débil que me era difícil realizar las labores cotidianas.

Initially I was in isolation in my bedroom, without contact with my family, in a part of my house. When I came out positive the symptoms worsened, I began to have a dry cough and I started to feel very dizzy and my body was in such a weak state that it was difficult for me to carry out my daily tasks.

Los dolores de cabeza y los mareos continuos se incrementaron durante el avance de los días. Aunque tenía el pecho algo trancado por la tos seca, aún podía seguir respirando de manera normal sin presentar dificultad. En este punto guardar reposo y cumplir con las medicinas recetadas era fundamental.

The headaches and continuous dizziness increased as the days progressed. Although my chest was somewhat tight from the dry cough, I was still able to continue breathing normally without difficulty. At this point, rest and compliance with the prescribed medications was essential.

Incluso tomando todas las medidas posible, fue inevitable evitar contagiar a mis familiares, mi papá, mamá y novia terminaron siendo positivo por covid más adelante.

Even taking all possible measures, it was inevitable to avoid infecting my family members, my dad, mom and girlfriend ended up being covid positive later on.

El virus aparece a los días de haber ocurrido el contagiado y así nos pasó a nosotros, la ultima en tener covid-19 y a la que más fuerte de le dio fue a mi mamá, suponemos que porque tenía una carga mayor recibida por todos nosotros.

The virus appears a few days after the contagion has occurred and that is how it happened to us, the last one to have covid-19 and the one who got it the strongest was my mother, we suppose because she had a greater load received by all of us.

En esta foto tenía casi 10 días de haber dado positivo, la evolución era buena, pero no me sentía del todo bien

Una de las cosas que me ayudó fue no intentar caer en la desesperación de no ver mejoras rápidamente, tener covid no es como una gripe que se cura en un par de días, es un virus que deja secuelas y es muy fuerte, mantener la calma y la mente positiva juega un papel fundamental para superarlo.

One of the things that helped me was not trying to fall into the despair of not seeing improvements quickly, having covid is not like a flu that is cured in a couple of days, it is a virus that leaves sequelae and is very strong, keeping calm and positive mind plays a key role in overcoming it.

Pasaron los días y fui mejorando poco a poco luego de tres semanas había días en que me sentía mejor y luego volvía a recaer presentando dolores de cabeza y algunos mareos repentinos debido a los medicamentos que estaba tomando.

The days went by and I was improving little by little after three weeks, there were days when I felt better and then I would relapse again with headaches and some sudden dizziness due to the medications I was taking.

Primera salida en bicicleta luego de casi un mes de contagiarme/First bike ride after almost a month of being infected with the disease.

Comencé a ejercitarme poco a poco con caminatas muy cortas y pronto pude montarme en la bicicleta luego de casi un mes después de haberme contagiado, los recorridos fueron muy cortos, las fuerzas no eran las mismas y mis pulsaciones se incrementaban rápidamente con cualquier esfuerzo, me dio miedo y sentía que todavía no estaba listo.

I started to exercise little by little with very short walks and soon I was able to get on the bike after almost a month after being infected, the rides were very short, the strength was not the same and my heart rate increased rapidly with any effort, it was scary and I felt that I was not ready yet.

No me desanimé, seguí haciendo ejercicio poco a poco, en estos momentos no he podido tener la misma condición en la que me encontraba antes de contagiarme de covid, sin embargo cada día me siento mejor.

I did not get discouraged, I kept on exercising little by little, at this moment I have not been able to have the same condition I was in before I got covid, however I feel better every day.

La mejor compañera/The best partner

La soledad durante esta enfermedad es un arma de doble filo, yo conté con la suerte de tener a mi lado una persona increíble que me acompañó en todo momento y me ayudó a superar juntos cada una de los síntomas.

Loneliness during this disease is a double-edged sword. I was fortunate to have an incredible person by my side who accompanied me at all times and helped me overcome each of the symptoms together.

Antes de despedirme no quiero obviar que a cada quien le da de una manera diferente este virus, pero si les sirve de ayuda, manténganse positivos que se van a ir mejorando poco a poco, la mente juega un papel fundamental en la recuperación.
