Today marks the change of season in Argentina, but instead of rejoicing at the arrival of spring, I begin to suffer from seasonal allergies.

When I lived in my native country, Venezuela, this only happened once a year, right around Christmas, but I never saw it as an allergy, since at home it was my brother who had that label stuck to him. I used to joke that he was allergic to himself.

But over time, it was no longer just a coincidence, and now that I live in a country with four seasons, it all makes sense: seasonal changes give me allergies.

During the pandemic, wearing a mask helped me avoid getting sick, but then I got sick again around this time of year, so I got into the habit of wearing a mask to prevent it. However, this time, just when I left it at home, a strong breeze knocked me down.

I've had a bad cough and lots of mucus for a week, but nothing that can't be overcome with rest and medication. For now, we are coming out of the crisis.

Tiempo de primavera

En Argentina hoy hacemos el cambio de estación, pero en lugar de alegrarme por la llegada de la primavera, comienza mi sufrimiento por el tema de las alergias estacionarias.

Mientras viví en mi país natal, Venezuela, esto solo pasaba una vez al año, justo para navidad, pero nunca lo vi como una alergia, ya que en casa mi hermano era quien tenía ese estandarte pegado al cuerpo. En broma le decía que él era alérgico hasta a si mismo.

Pero con el tiempo ya no era solo coincidencia, y ahora viviendo en un país con las 4 estaciones todo terminó de tener sentido: los cambios de estación me producen alergias.

Mientras duró la pandemia, el uso del tapabocas ayudó a que no me pasara nada, pero ya luego volví a enfermar para estas fechas, así que tomé la costumbre de usar tapabocas y así evitarlo, pero en esta ocasión, justo cuando lo dejé en casa, una fuerte brisa me hizo caer.

He estado una semana con mucha tos y fluidos, pero nada que no se pueda superar con reposo y medicamentos. Por ahora, ya vamos saliendo de la crisis.
