Late Intervention - My Actifit Report Card: August 6 2022

Thorns have seeds all formed and ready to be shaken off now. Nothing to do about it. For the second year, I was planning to remove the unwanted plants before they can mature but time...is on their side. That is their...wait for it...nature.

I Removed some thorns today, anyway, as many as I could while still looking for the lost potatoes and at the same time, trimming the vines a bit. Too much foliage, too much fruit to bear, too little irrigation. So, less is more. We shall see.

I an to replace the vineyard with an extension of the orchard, anyway.

Does Mantiss agree? What do you think?

A bit later, I had to run the bucket of water and serve all 22 remaining young trees. Extra care taken of Chestet, the 2nd chestnut 🌰 tree. He seemed a bit listless. I am not sureif his root system has developed well enough and I am not sure if I managed to water him...on time.

We shall see that, too.

Horrible hot and dry summer this year. I try to water our trees much more than the previous year, I am afraid we are loosing our cherry tree, it doesn't have much leaves lately. Hopefully the good rain today helps a bit ;)

Some deleafization is what I also observe. Not sure if it's the drought or something eating them. They look a bit munched upon. Survival of the fittest. What can I say, I am not often there so I try finding lasting solutions such as mulching around them and... planting new ones if I have to.

I hope it is not a decease. In the last three days I poured almost 2 cubical meters of water on the base of that cherry tree, I hope it survives... But as you said yourself - I'll plant new ones if I have to. Already planted six new trees in our back yard in the last three years...
