My Actifit Report Card: August 14 2022
A long day it was, me doing some gardening after driving to that remote yard where I had them twenty-something trees planted...I wanted to ensure they had something to drink in the heat.
The peach here is on an old tree, one that my grandfather planted and took better and more regular care of...
I do jot use any pesticides and that might spell the end of my orchard experiment at some point...but for now, giving nature a chance to find its balance.
Fruit trees are not as stubborn and as good at surviving as their wild kin are. So...I don't know. I might switch and go to the full program that real food producers use. It would be sad...but having trees lose their leaves to diseases or pests and then go dry...that's sad, too.
I threw about twenty-five buckets of water while manually refilling the barrel from the well. I focused on the new trees that I mentioned.
Eleven almonds, three peaches, three pears, three hazelnuts, two chestnuts, one Christmas tree.
Then I cleared two paths from thorns at the vineyard. With a hoe and brute tactics.
I got back to town, a shower, and work.
And it decided to rain on us. Shortly but heavily.
There was a pause and I used it to transport some stuff between homes.
A lot ti take care of in the months ahead.

This year I use solar power for the water pump for the garden and despite the drought, it looks better. But I am seeing the same problem with old fruit trees. Probably not only the dry season but some deceases too. Hopefully the winter break and rest cures them.
