The Price Of Art. My Actifit Report Card: June 8 2023

What I intend to talk about today has nothing to do with the 16 k of steps I've somehow made.

It's about the painting in the snapshot. Well, the snapshot is fresh from this evening, but the painting has been in my possession for a week.

I bought it from an artist who was selling his works on the streets of Burgas. A man over sixty, I guess, by the name of Atanas Angelov.

He was not expecting me to be a buyer, I'd wager. I was not expecting him to ask more than a couple of days' wage as a price. And that was among his largest paintings, certainly the most standing-out one.

I was correct about the price he asked. Artists near the seaside sell cheap to tourists.

I am quite picky, though, usually.

Se, does one paint one of these and more on a daily basis? How does it compute asking the mid wage for just a couple of days when you also spend for canvas, paints, and frame an amount that is almost half of it?

Picky as I am, I like this one enough.
