It's a step towards the right direction, but why did it take this long and court cases from over 200 players for them to see the need to provide safety gears for the players, knowing fully well how physical the sport of rugby is.

It is utter madness and basically the governing body ignoring the issue. This is nothing new and it is more about the numbers increasing. How many players previously have had problems and this has been ignored is the sad part. The game has to change and it must become safer for everyone involved so whatever measures are taken they need to be realistic which I don't think they are.
