Still above target - Night Run

I just finished a 7.304km running that lasted about 0hh:33mm:18ss !

Even I am surprised that I did exactly what I had planned yesterday! But the timing of the storm in the afternoon was perfect and it brought the temperature down a few degrees. Still around 80F (around 27 degrees Celsius) with the humidity way above 80%, it is far from perfect conditions, but it's a little better than what I expected. So, just like yesterday, a little bit after 9pm, with a sky now clear after the storm, I got started. To change it up a little bit, I veered East before the forest. I then merged onto a route pretty similar to a few days ago but in the opposite direction. That means I finished with that small footpath along the forest in the cover photo. That was a little different, and all on flat and smooth terrain, as it started to get dark right at the beginning. Final distance around 4.5 mile is also close to what I had in mind, that was lucky.

At 7:20 min/mile, the average pace is a little bit faster than yesterday, and the mile splits are surprisingly consistent. I started getting a side stitch about 1 mile before the end, first one in quite some time. But I'm really glad that I still managed to maintain the same pace till the very end. Like I said multiple times, I struggle a bit, particularly with the heat, but at least it looks I can sustain the effort. So I guess that's good.

A couple of deer and rabbits today again. But the bugs were a real problem today, hitting me the whole time. I am a bit ashamed that one of them scared me when it hit me, I am still not sure what it was, but it was big! Other than that, nothing to report.

There is very little doubt that tomorrow will be a rest day, at least for running. The storms supposed to start early afternoon and for the entire day should make it easy. Lots of rain in the forecast for Thursday as well, so we'll see if I can confirm the strong start for July, or if I have to postpone the next run till Friday at least.

Till then, keep Exhausting!
