Three-peat - Night Run

I just finished a 8.769km running that lasted about 0hh:40mm:52ss !

Like I said yesterday, I really wasn't planning on running today, but I changed my mind at the last minute. I was actually having drinks with some appetizers when I realized it had stopped raining for a while, and it was probably a good idea to rack up some miles when I could. So, once again, a little after 9pm, I started a run. I usually don't like suiting up for less than 5k, so to keep it easy, that's the distance I had in mind for this third run in a row. That's why I started on my now preferred route for short runs: West after the forest, back through the local streets and finish as usual with the pathway in front of the forest. But after a couple miles, when I was almost done digesting that heavy Pimento Cheese stuff, I felt pretty good with still plenty of energy. So I added several extra loops to bring the final distance to almost 5.5 miles.

The afternoon storm brought the temperature down to a very reasonable 72F (or 22 degrees Celsius) but with 98% humidity, this was not as comfortable as you'd think. It was so humid that my glasses were fogged up the whole time. When I was along one of the streets, with the car headlights, and my foggy glasses, I couldn't see a thing! But with the flat and smooth terrain, no problem. I started at a regular pace and thought I would slow down along the way. But like I said, I felt pretty good, and actually maintained a very uniform pace again. At 7:30 min/mile, this is slightly slower than yesterday, but way faster than a recovery pace, so I'm happy with it.

In one of these extra loops, around a wooded area, I ended up face to face with a couple of deer. It seems they were just as surprised as I was, and just stood their ground while I ran past them. I also ran in front of that apartment building in front of which I saw that tied dog twice, but today it wasn't there. That's good, at least it's not always left alone outside.

This time, it is 100% sure, I will not run tomorrow. Even if the predicted storms aren't there, I won't have enough time anyways. If I manage to get more free time than expected, I'll just use it for more dog walks. And Friday when we're supposed to get mild temperature, low humidity and no rain, I can go running again.

Till then, keep Exhausting!
