New segment PR - Afternoon Run

I just finished a 6.13km running that lasted about 0hh:28mm:28ss !

One full week without a run, lots of eating and drinking, today I really wanted to go for a run. So, when I saw the sun was already setting down behind the trees, I quickly got ready and while I was lacing up my running shoes, of course that's when my screen lit up with my boss trying to reach me. He already tried for a few days, so I couldn't skip this one again. Since it was almost completely dark after that, I really thought about giving up on my run, but finally decided to run anyways. I chose the exact same route than last run, because I know it well now. I was worried I would really struggle, but in the end, I was actually slightly faster than last week. Somehow I managed to shave 6 seconds off my pace per mile at 7:28 min/mile. And this time, I didn't forget about that short Strava segment. I couldn't go all out, because I didn't have the legs, but I did speed up a bit: about 5 seconds faster at 46 seconds! Yes, it's a very short, but quite steep segment. And it's in no way a great performance, as I see the record on that segment is under 30 seconds. But still, it's nice to beat my own record.

Like most apps, Samsung Health gives me plenty of data I don't usually pay too much attention to (while some other useful and meaningful data is missing by the way). But during this trip, I noticed one that seems to really confirm the feeling I have with the running shoes I brought here. Like I said after the previous runs, they are very comfortable, but heavy. I can even hear the loud sound they produce at each step, even when I try and run as smoothly as possible. And the vertical stiffness metrics has been in the red for all my runs during this trip. I guess it's a good confirmation.

Tomorrow is my last chance to run before flying back home. Really not sure I will have the time, but I will try, I'd like to beat my PR on that segment again! If not, next run will be in the snowy and flat Michigan.
Till then, keep Exhausting!
