My Actifit Report Card: May 9 2023

avatar

This pretty bush is starting to bloom. Sadly, it is not in my garden but I enjoy walking by it.

I spend a good part of the day cutting weeds - plants I think are undesirable because they produce seedpods that really hurt when one steps on it or gets them on the skin.

Plants many consider weeds, for example dandelion, I fully embrace for all their wonderfulness and am collecting their seeds on purpose to throw them all over the yard.

Since weed whacker are expensive (between $ 200 and 300) and we are only here temporarily, I bought grass scissors for $ 16 and are using them and my Japanese garden knife to clean up.

A bit hard on the back - and not generating much steps - but it gets the job done 😎

Tried to load a garden pic but no luck. Oh well, tomorrow.

Weeding is a good thing because you get to clean up the yard and it will look sparkling (Albert it with sand... Lol)

I love a clean space and weeding gives me that too.

So even though you did not get enough step this day, because you did not walk around, rather you bend over to pluck a few grass here and there, it's all good. You did well, ma'am.

Actually, I don't like naked soil - it will die. All the microorganisms disappear. We are leaving for a bit and once I am back, I am trying to establish a carpet of native plants - or at least nitrogen fixers like lucernes to cover everything. I just don't like the weeds that hurt me or animals...

I don't know why but these bushes are looking very beautiful view, can't you grow them in your garden?

They are pretty. I am sure they would grow. But we are only here for a short while so I am not wanting to spend huge amounts of money on buying plants - especially since I know that the management here would just rip them out after we are gone.

$200 to 300 is really expensive

That is what I thought. Way too much for something I would only use once in a while.

My husband just bought a battery-operated weed eater for less than 100, he bought it from Wal Mart. If you go to their website they will ship it to you, they have several kinds that start at 39 dollars and up.
