Preparations for indigenous resistance: shopping and chores [Eng/Esp]
Greetings, community, I thought today was going to be rainy, but that wasn't the case at all. It turned out to be a beautiful day, so I took the girls to school with their raincoats, just in case.
My daughter Rogmary was happy to wear a pretty skirt for the first time, as she had been wearing a school uniform in previous years. It's a new experience for her; she had never tried wearing a skirt before, so I took a photo of her to remember the occasion.
I walked with my daughters to school, dropped them off, and went to find out who made Wayuu indigenous costumes, because Friday is the indigenous resistance activity and I hadn't done anything yet. I met with the seamstress, who gave me a price for making the Wayuu blanket, not including the fabric. I agreed that I would consult with my husband.
I decided to go downtown to check the prices of the fabric, but first I went into two clothing stores. I saw some guajiro-style costumes, like the ones worn by the Wayuu ethnic group, and I liked the colours of the clothes.
The first shop was expensive, so I went to another one where the price seemed reasonable, and I bought it. I think it was the best decision given the time constraints, as I had other things to do.
From there, I went to buy some spider paper for a poster about ethnicity, and I also asked about feathers to decorate my daughters' hair. I bought the magic clasp to use on the headband I'm going to make for them.

Although I am thinking of incorporating another material, I have to keep researching. I looked at the time and went to pick up my daughters from school again, because classes were about to end. In the afternoon, I helped my daughter Rogsanny with her homework so that the teacher could correct it the next day.

Mi hija Rogmary estaba feliz por estrenar una linda falda, es la primera vez que la usa, ya que en los años anteriores había estado usando mono escolar. Es una experiencia nueva; ella no había experimentado qué se siente usar falda, por lo que le tomé una foto para el recuerdo.
Seguí caminando con mis hijas hasta la escuela, las dejé y fui a averiguar quién hacía el traje de indígena wayuu, porque el viernes será la actividad de la resistencia indígena y no había hecho nada. Me encontré con la costurera, quien me dio el precio de lo que me cobraría por hacerme la manta wayuu, sin incluir la tela, quedé en que consultaría con mi esposo.
Decidí ir al centro a ver los precios de la tela, pero antes entré a dos tiendas de ropa. Vi unos trajes estilo guajiro, como los que usa la etnia wayuu, me gusto los colores de la ropa.
En la primera tienda, estaba caro, así que seguí visitando otra y el precio me pareció accesible, y lo compré. Considero que fue la mejor decisión por el tiempo, ya que debo realizar otras actividades.
De ahí me fui a comprar un papel araña para una cartelera alusiva a la etnia, también pregunté por las plumas para decorar el cabello de mis hijas. Compre el cierre mágico para utilizarlo en el cintillo que les voy a hacer.

Aunque estoy pensando en incorporar otro material, tengo que seguir investigando,vi la hora así que me fui a buscar a las hijas nuevamente a la escuela, porque faltaba poco por culminar las clases. En la tarde ayude a mi hija Rogsanny a hacer la tarea para que se la corrijan al día siguiente la maestra.
