Cruise through South America. Montevideo/Crucero por Sudamerica. Montevideo

Good morning, @worldmappin community. On Wednesday the 28th, we spent the whole day sailing. I will talk more about the cruise itself in another post. On Thursday the 29th, we made our last port of call in Montevideo, Uruguay.
As soon as we got off the ship, we just had to cross the Rambla Roosevelt and we were in the historic centre, with cobbled streets and colonial-era houses. It was really beautiful. It has cafés, restaurants specialising in beef and other things for tourists. We walked straight to the Rambla Francia to see the sea and then returned to the historic centre to visit a craft market, where we bought alfajores because my daughter collects the wrappers. Finally, we visited the Gaucho and Coin Museum, which is the former Central Bank of Uruguay, an excellent building that has been refurbished to house an exhibition on the history of the gaucho, their life, struggles, and daily activities. Admission to the museum is free. There is also a collection of old coins and banknotes. There are many more museums to visit, such as the Museum of Pre-Columbian and Indigenous Art, the Andes 1972 Museum, and the Gurvich Museum, but we didn't have that much time. We returned to the cruise ship to pack our bags, as we would be disembarking in Buenos Aires the next day.
Well, travellers, that's all for today. We'll see you in the next post. Thank you for reading.
