My Actifit Report Card: July 9th 2023 & clean your city effort

I hope, this post finds you well. On the beautiful Sunday morning, I embarked on an adventure filled with cycling, exploration, unexpected discoveries, and giving back. With the goal of increasing my donation funds for a local food kitchen, my day started at 4:30 am with a steaming cup of coffee and preparations for a bike ride. Equipped with my new gadget, the Fitbit Inspire 3, as well as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and black tea for energy, I set out on my mountain bike to embrace the beauty of the morning and make a difference in the local community.

With a big cup of coffee in hand, I eagerly prepared my supplies for the day ahead. My gadget the Fitbit Inspire 3 strapped to my wrist, I felt motivated and ready to take on the challenge. Making sure to pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for energy refuel and a change of tea, this time opting for black tea for an extra caffeine kick while cycling. At 5 minutes before 5 am, I hopped on my bike, feeling the excitement coursing through my veins as I embarked on my Sunday spin.

My first stop was the stairs behind the local soccer field, which I intended to climb as part of my exercise routine. To my surprise, the stairs were clean and well-maintained, making my workout more enjoyable. As I reached the top, I noticed a discarded can worth €0.25 lying nearby. This small find brought me closer to my target donation of €100 for the local food kitchen.

Continuing my journey, I made my way towards the highest point in town, eager to witness the sun's gradual ascent over the fields. However, I couldn't help but notice that the sun seemed to rise later and later each day.

Arriving at the summit, I was greeted by an unexpected sight – an abundance of redeemable bottles and cans. Each item held a value of €0.25, significantly propelling me closer to my donation goal.

Descending along the Klosterbruch trails towards the Wupper stream, I stumbled upon a delightful surprise. Two individuals were camping near the stream, enjoying nature's serenity. Leaving them a peace in their sleep, I continued upstream and was rewarded yet again. At one of the benches, remnants from the previous evening's gathering were left behind, including redeemable cans. Determined to make the most of this opportunity, I collected them, adding to my growing collection for recycling in my backpack.

Taking a well-deserved break, I found solace on concrete sun loungers next to the flowing water. Here, I enjoyed my peanut butter and jelly sandwich while sipping on tea, refueling my energy for the journey ahead.

As I sat there, I couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of nature and reflect on the purpose behind my endeavor.

With renewed vigor, I embarked on my journey back home, encountering numerous uphill challenges along the way. One such obstacle was a school where people had been partying the previous evening. Despite the mess left behind, I discovered several vodka bottles strewn about.

Taking it upon myself I cleaned up the area and than I continued my ascent up the hill, determined to complete my morning spin.

Exhausted yet fulfilled, I finally arrived home, ready to prepare for church. This Sunday morning adventure had not only allowed me to experience the joys of cycling and exploration but also provided an opportunity to contribute towards a cause close to my heart. Through my efforts, I had collected a substantial amount towards my goal of €100 for the local food kitchen. As I reflected on the events of the day, I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and gratitude for the unexpected blessings that had come my way.
