Greetings and blessings.!
We’re back at the stadium for interval training—a workout I’ve come to enjoy over time and have learned to appreciate for how crucial it is to keep making progress. I left home at 5:35 a.m., and wow, it was already so bright out—it felt like 6:00 a.m. The forecast had predicted high temperatures for the day, and that’s exactly how it turned out; the heat was intense all day long. I started my workout with a 1.5-kilometer warm-up, warming up in the park so that I’d arrive at the stadium five minutes before six. When I got to the stadium, it was already open, and several people were already training. Usually, some young women and older ladies come very early to walk, along with some dogs out with their owners. I drank some water, took a deep breath, and started my workout. My goal for today was 5 repetitions of 800 meters—a distance that demands a lot of respect. After 400 meters, every interval is a challenge, because enduring pain and fatigue pushes us to challenge our minds.
The average duration of each interval was between 4:09 and 3:59 minutes. I rested for two minutes between intervals, but before the last one, I rested an extra minute because I was feeling a bit tired. The idea is to maintain a steady pace to get the most out of the intervals; otherwise, we won’t be able to keep up with the required pace, and if we switch to a different pace, unfortunately we won’t reap the benefits of this type of routine.I also kept my heart rate within the target range for this type of training in Zone 5 During the last set, I felt a sense of accomplishment; I was happy to finish the workout. When I was done, I hydrated, took a deep breath, and recovered by walking home. We continue to prepare and make progress in our training, with no race in sight yet.💕💕🏃🏽♀️➡️
