Tuesday, speed training combined with plyometrics. Tuesdays are usually speed training, today we went to do the speed series at the stadium which is close to home, the ideal place for this type of training. I went with my husband, we went early in the afternoon, the weather was very rough, high temperatures. The stadium was very crowded, with several baseball schools training, a very nice atmosphere, but you have to keep an eye on the balls hehehehe. We started the training with a warm up of about 1.5 km distance. Then we started with the sets, in my case I had planned to do 10 sets of 400 mts with 1 minute rest between sets, but the weather was very hard, I got exhausted quickly, I only managed to do 6 sets. I relaxed with a two laps around the stadium at the end of the sets to stabilize myself.
El ambiente en el estadium estaba super deportivo, llegaron mas corredores hacer sus rutinas. Como no realice la rutina completa planificada para este dia, aprovechando las ventajas de las escaleras de cemento en estadium, realice un poco de pliometria, nuna antes lo habia hecho en estas escaleras, realice algo de saltos en los escalones, co,ence con algo de temor, porque sentia que me podia tropezar, o resbalar al pelar algun escalon, es bien fuerte este trabajo, pero si que es bien provechoso, ya que este tipo de saltos mejora mucho la agilidad, equilibrio y coordinacion, entre otras cosas. Hay una gran variedad de ejercicios pliometricos, yo realice los basicos, espero seguir con este tipo de rutina en mis entrenamientos.
The atmosphere in the stadium was super sporty, more runners came to do their routines. As I didn?t do the complete routine planned for this day, taking advantage of the cement stairs in the stadium, I did some plyometrics, I had never done it before in these stairs, I did some jumping on the steps, I was a little bit afraid, because I felt that I could trip or slip when I hit a step, this work is very hard, but it is very profitable, because this kind of jumping improves a lot my agility, balance and coordination, among other things. There is a wide variety of plyometric exercises, I did the basics, I hope to continue with this type of routine in my workouts.A pesar que no logre los objetivos con el entrenamiento de velocidades, que como saben no son mis favoritos, me senti satisfecha con el complemento de los ejercicios pliometricos, bueno y asi no pasa a los runners no siempre rendimos lo mismo en la pista, pero bueno lo importante es mantenerse constante y enfocado.
Although I didn't achieve my goals with the speed training, which as you know is not my favourite, I felt satisfied with the complement of the plyometric exercises, well and so it doesn't happen to runners, we don't always perform the same on the track, but the important thing is to stay constant and focused.
