Saludos amigos
ENGLISH VERSION
Greetings friends
Sunday, the day for long runs, the best day of all, as it is the training that suits me best, being relaxed and enjoying the surroundings. Today's plan was 15K, but my husband and I did 14K. The route we chose is one of the best for long runs, as it is all uphill, very cool, and best of all, safe, since we know that on Sundays there are many early risers on the street and you have to be very careful. As most of the route is not on the national road, you are very protected. I started my route with the first two kilometres as a warm-up, and I was blessed with some beautiful flowers on the asphalt. It was like a red carpet for me, but made of flowers. I was well equipped with my hydration water, water with electrolytes, and my guava sandwich snack. At kilometre 3, I began my hydration training. I drank some water every kilometre. We were surprised on our route by the swollen stream. It had been raining all night, but thank God there is a bridge over this little stream that swells from time to time. It is a bit rusty but still safe. My husband got his trainers a little wet and jumped across the river. From this point to where we planned to turn back, there was still 1.5 km to go. We continued on until we stopped at a beautiful farm called Cariaquito. We hydrated, took some photos, and began the descent.
I pushed a little harder in the last few kilometres to see how my legs would respond. Thank God I have been feeling better since I improved my nutrition and hydration before, during, and after training. I maintained an average pace of 6:42 min/km throughout the race, with a running time of 1:33:38. Although I didn't reach the mileage I had set for this training session, I did complete the time, so it was a very productive training session, and best of all, I enjoyed it 100%.
Well, we'll continue with our training sessions. See you soon.
