Seven Sacred Stops: A Pilgrimage Through Maundy Thursday

It's my first time to join Visita Iglesia.

Visita Iglesia is a Catholic tradition observed during Holy Week, particularly on Maundy Thursday, where individuals or groups visit seven churches to pray.

We started with participating in the Mass at Saint Francis Xavier Cathedral. The mass commemorated the Last Supper of Jesus and His Disciples. There was also a ceremony on the washing of the feet of the apostles.

After the mass we proceeded to the first church, the San Isidro Labrador Church, around 23 kilometers away. I was both excited and worried. This is historic for me but I was not feeling well.

We have this booklet as guide for prayers and reflections.

Then we went to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church.

Our third stop is at the Our Lady of Snows Church

The fourth church we visited is the San Ramon Church. It's by far the solemnist church we visited. The lights were dimmed and there were lighted candles leading to the altar. A soft meditative music filled the air. I said my prayers and we left.

After 5 minutes we arrived at the San Vicente Ferrer Church. The smallest church among the churches we visited.

I was already feeling tired and a little bit sleepy. But the excitement overwhelmed me. We went to the Little Way College Seminary. I overheard that today's the birthday of the seminary rector so I included him in my prayers.

We finally arrived at the Saint Francis Cathedral. The last leg of our pilgrimage. We said our concluding prayers and bade farewell to our fellow pilgrims.
