We're back baby!

Annnnnnnd we're back baby! I have to be honest with you though, training was back last week I just was extremely wrecked from the week before and couldn't get up in the morning so told little miss it didn't resume until this week. I also knew her best friend wasn't going to be there as they were on holiday. Victoria has pretty much removed all restrictions maintaining social distencing and other things but no mask wearting out doors or in restaurants etc.

But the main thing community sports has made a return and our A league club is back open for business with a return to training. We haven't stopped training though and have continued to practice and pick up on skills. Last time we were at training lil miss was quite reserved as she'd hurt a few of the girls and didn't want to hurt people.

We've been focusing on this part of the game and I have been building her confidence in the sport by teaching her its just a game and yes people will get hurt but it's still fun. We attended many "out of session" training sessions on the grounds during lock down as exercise was still permissible and we got to see how the bigger kids played, got hurt and kept going.

It's been a few months since we were on the field and this also means little bloke is wanting to get out. He was pretty angry that he couldn't get out on the field. His not quite as reserved and is used to being hurt by his older sister and he still goes hard.

I think and I don't want to sound bad here, her playing with her brother and having those moments has really helped her confidence in tackling other kids.

So how did she fair today? Dominated, I have to admit I was pretty impressed and she even had the ability of flopping down pat and believe it or not got the winning goal from it 🤣 that skill was abit of a hard one to teach. What? I pretend to get hurt and get a free kick? I didn't think I'd pull it off but she made it look so real that I thought it actually was real and she was hurt.

It wasn't until after the game that she asked me if it looked real, I was quite surprised and started laughing my head off. Ah well anything to win eh.

Her coaches even remarked on her ability as they had improved, much of it due to obviously her getting older and doing more and practising during the lock downs and it's been something she has really enjoyed and I've enjoyed doing with her.

Either way I am super impressed and proud of little miss and how she has found a love in the sport and I look forward to continuing to see her shine and hopefully one day lead her clubs team!

Wo0t wo0t!

Imagine if more parents documented their kids lives like this..
I'll bet you'll be able to pay for her college with just hive blogs about her, by the time she is old enough!

Great to see little miss back playing ball again. It's so important for children to get into sports early, especially if they show the interest and we can afford for them to play.
