My Actifit Report Card: February 10 2024 - Cleaning, Feasting and Pub Hopping Day.
What a stroke of luck that I feel fit enough to participate in all the carnival activities for the next 4 days.
Until Tuesday, I'll be in full party mode, and after that, Lent begins. And I'm looking forward to that too.
A period to start new, better habits, to take care of your health again and to go back to basics.
Whether you are religious or not, Lent can be a valuable time to reflect, grow and connect.
Before I start these 4 days of partying, I always make sure my house is spick and span.
It just doesn't feel right to go partying when it's a mess at home.
Not that it was that bad, but it justifies my partying for the next few days and 'neglecting' my daily chores.
So this day starts with a nice cleaning workout.
A delicious dinner follows and we end this day with a cozy party in all the pubs here in the village.
With one last midnight snack (salted and paprika chips)
A fresh, lonely, nocturnal walk home, through the deserted dark streets, closes my 1st day of partying well.

Aha, so you're from the south as well :) I am too and I have memories of so many Carnaval seasons.. until I grew a bit older and decided it was not for me (the music) and the standing in the cold weather waiting for the parade to start lol.
But my daughter was dressed as Wednesday during school Friday because they do some celebrations here in Spain too, nothing like how we Southern Dutchies do it though. On top of that the parades were cancelled due to the storm, lol.
We haven't seen anything other than her being Wednesday lol.
Take it easy dear, it's hard on the body otherwise lol.
I sent you a few HSBI too yesterday and will do so more often ;)

Carnival celebration indeed flows through my veins.
Here in the South, you do indeed grow up with it.
You either love it or prefer to avoid it.
My two sons are also walking in the parade today.
Unfortunately, I am not yet able to participate due to my health (too cold).
But next year I will be participating again.
Wednesday what a nice idea of your daughter to be dressed like that.
I haven't seen that outfit here yet.
Maybe it's because of the lack of color. 😂
I am going to get ready to watch the parade now.
And see if I can catch some candy they throw from floats. 🍬

I used to love it as a child but later, I only went to celebrate carnaval at places where they had the music I liked lol. I've never been a pub crawler honestly.
That doesn't mean that I didn't go watch the parades because I like seeing those.. this year we sadly didn't have one due to extreme wind but the Spanish have so many celebrations that it's ok, we will find another event soon with music and parades lol.
The carnaval outfits have always been a struggle, so many bad quality outfits that are WAY too cold for the time of year (even here) so I was very pleased that for Halloween I found this one as my research finding the right seller with good reviews paid off.. she still fits it now, I think next schoolyear, if she still likes it, she can wear it again for Halloween lol.
