My mind flashes first to the joints in the human body when I first saw the prompt, that is the common joint. I guess it is because this joint is important in our everyday life.

In the community where I live, there are some local restaurants and quick fix stores that some folks called joint. They are always around the joint, hanging out and gisting with friends. The joint is always crowded because the owner gave them permission to hang around even after buying whatever they want to buy. This initiative alone helps the business in gaining ground and sustaining their customer network.
