Dusty Day
The day dawned red. I’m not talking about the sunrise, which could colour the sky in nice yellow and red. It's about red sand from the Sahara. Everything was covered with a thin layer of red dust. This sometimes happens when the warm air coming from the direction of Africa carries with it particles of red sand and dust. I spent the morning sweeping the terrace and washing everything that was outside.
We went for a walk just in the afternoon and passed by almond trees. They are still in blossom, so I captured again some of the flowers.
Even on the stump new branches can grow and bloom.
I saw some of my favourite fruits, nispero (loquat) and there were a few mature ones. But it was just in those two trees I saw they start to have the orange colour. Everything else is still green. they need about a month more.
Some nice flowers also crossed my path, so I am bringing them here to the post.
And this last photo shows the red dust - sand when I started to clean the table on the balcony. Imagine all that was on the floor and all around, on the streets and cars.
Stay well everyone, see you tomorrow.

Nice pictures as always. Apparently, this Sahara 'rain' is passing through most of Western Europe. My parents in France told me it was very impressive this orangish sky, more so than what they've seen in the past.
Yes, I heard that it sometimes goes up the other countries as well.
Recognized the Loquat tree as we used to pick them when I was a kid. Can remember having to pick the ones without the two marks left by the fruit bats. I have heard about the Sahara dust travelling over the Mediterranean before and it is quite amazing.
Oh, you recognized the fruit? Wow, that is cool. I have never heard of it before I came to live here, and yesterday other hive friend said that she has them in Portugal as well.
I really like the taste of them, can't wait 😇

some of that desert dust made it all the way up here this morning, too!
Omg, really? I didn't know it goes so far away.
You see, you complained that everything is grey...now you have red landscape as well 🤣
