If Samuel Chukwueze’s mother had known how famous her son would become from professional football, she would never have dissuaded him years back.
At 20, the Villarreal winger is one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, a player whose skills have exposed him on the radar of the continent’s elite clubs. He’s one of La Liga’s best prospects, a current and future star of the Nigerian national team.

My mum always tried to stop me from playing football,” Chukwueze tells Goal in an exclusive, wide-ranging interview. “I loved to play from a very young age but she would try to stop me. She would make me stay in the house and focus on my studies.”

As parents we shouldn't stop our children from doing what they are passionate about as far as it is not immoral. A lot of children's destinies have been truncated in this manner. This is just a lesson for parents.
