Finding a Lucrative business in Poultry Rearing, Construction of our Pen cage

Hello Hive

It is a good thing to see a mass adoption of the poultry business among the population of my community. It was so displeasing to hear about the scarcity of eggs problem that has recently ravaged the United States of America. I heard that Florida and Hawaii particularly experienced very high egg prices to the extent that Washington asked Europe to export some of their egg surpluses to their country.

A bird flu has ravaged the poultry population, reducing the egg-laying birds by a huge amount. This led to such extreme scarcity and a hike in prices that the price of eggs surged to about 150%, or so I heard. This is to show you just how much eggs are valued and eaten in these countries. Matters got so bad that even the president had to speak on this issue, making a headline in the news.

For this part of the world, a lot of people have not eaten eggs or poultry meat in a very long time due to its unaffordability. Although the hike in poultry feeds has been the reason for the hike

After an honest critical review, it was equally evident that the number of farmers in the poultry business is very few. In situations where there are very few traders and owners of a community, they are often involved in market foundations to determine the price of such products.

The few poultry breeders and traders often determine the price of eggs and chicken at the market. The local population is often forced to succumb to whatever price is issued.

The narrative is just about to change, and guess what? A good amount of my local community have shown interest and are now engaged in raising their own birds. Engaging in poultry rearing can be done for both business purposes and personal use. A few persons here started this for personal use, and it wasn't long before they increased the number of their birds, turning this into an additional side hustle.

Now almost everyone is involved in the poultry business.

Walking by the village, the first sights that greet your eye are bird cages by the side of each and every household. Some were even constructed to form story buildings, all constructed with planks and nets.

The most surprising and amazing thing is that not a single individual has experienced bird fatalities yet. The local population, who are used to growing our local chickens, have now wholesomely embraced poultry rearing. Everyone is learning the process of how to keep these Agri-engineered birds. And aside from the inflation in prices of poultry feeds, we will be having an adequate and fair amount of poultry foods within this community no sooner than later.

My family is equally not exempt from this act, as we have taken turns to also get a poultry pen built. My sisters and I all live in different locations within the same state.

Just yesterday my sister invited me to join her in the work of the construction of their own poultry pen.

We didn't purchase new construction materials, as those will be very expensive. We took the items we have around the house to recycle them. These are the old and rusted zinc to which we purchased a done plank, nails, and barbed wire.

We wanted to do this by ourselves before realizing how much hard work it is and that some level of expertise is needed to construct this. Hence we employed a carpenter to assist us with the task.

He started the work at about 7am and all through the day because he was a very young teenager and barely up to the adult age. He was able to build a single-story pen cage for us, which can house about 15 birds, Max. Cages larger than this get expensive as more material will be needed.

Before the construction, we had already bought some birds and were nurturing them within the house. The cage was ready just in time for us to move the birds in. Hopefully, as we join the community in the business of raising birds, we will equally make some success with this and be able to raise birds for our own personal use.
