A Legacy of Brilliant Minds: The Bisucay Amateur Chess Club!

Can you believe the Bisucay Amateur Chess Club has been going strong since 2000? It is incredibly humbling to see an initiative I started over two decades ago still thriving today. This longevity is all thanks to the unwavering dedication of our amazing teacher-coach, our supportive community, and of course, the brilliant kids who show up ready to play.

Because of this teamwork, our home-grown players have been dominating the Cuyo District Meet, proudly representing us against three different towns!

For this year's tournament, we wanted to highlight what chess is truly all about. If you look at the photos, you’ll see boys and girls competing side-by-side on an equal playing field. Why? Because chess is the ultimate equalizer! In a battle of the minds, gender doesn't matter—it’s all about strategy, patience, and skill.

Looking Ahead, I am fully committed to supporting this yearly tournament and sharing our journey right here with all of you. My promise is that any rewards generated from these posts will go straight toward funding prizes for our future champions!
